While we love the energy of a walk-in, we know you want to guarantee your seat at the bar. You can now book your spot up to 60 days in advance via the link in our bio. Come grab a pencil, check those boxes, and let’s eat.

Shokunin has arrived in East Austin, bringing a nostalgic neighborhood sushi bar feel to East Austin from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market, retro tick-box ordering, and and a no-frills, casual atmosphere 🍣

Our ceremonial grade matcha is an incredible addition to any meal. The highest-quality and most antioxidant-rich matcha available, ceremonial grade is distinctively produced from the youngest, shade-grown tea leaves harvested in early spring, yielding its vibrant green, and smooth flavor.

Enjoy as a component in our a cocktail, or served with your favorite choice of milk.

It’s the best of both worlds: an à la carte menu featuring fish we fly in weekly from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market, served as nigiri, sashimi, or hand rolls. Take a seat, and we’ll take care of the rest.

“From Chef Phillip Frankland Lee and Executive Pastry Chef Margarita Kallas-Lee, the brilliant Michelin-starred husband and wife team behind Sushi by Scratch Restaurants, Pasta|Bar, and NADC Burger, comes a more casual sushi concept that seems almost retro in a world of high-concept spots. While Sushi by Scratch is one of our favorite special occasion spots, Shokunin and their a la carte menu is a one that has us wanting to go back multiple times a week because although it’s a more no-frills format, they don’t skimp an ounce on quality.”

Thank you for the love, !
