What looks effortless in a finished room is actually hundreds of intentional decisions layered together.
We wanted this post to show just how much thought, collaboration, and experience goes into designing just one room. Great design is never accidental, and the value of our work is in the details most people don’t even realize are being considered.
At Tribe, our goal is always to create a one of a kind, beautiful and functional home.

A moment for a few of our favorite powder baths.
Small spaces are often where we take the biggest design risks — bold wallpaper, dramatic stone, rich color, layered lighting. Powder baths give us the opportunity to create something unexpected while still feeling intentional.
Each one has its own personality, but all of them were designed to leave a lasting impression.

The Shelf Edit
Every object on these shelves was chosen to add something different whether it was warmth, texture, shape, or personality.
Mixing materials like wood, stone, paper, and ceramics keeps the styling feeling collected instead of overly perfect.

The small detail that made this room feel elevated.
For this guest bedroom, we transformed a standard stock bed into something far more personal with custom upholstery. It’s a subtle detail, but one that completely changes the feel of the space, adding warmth, texture, and intention without overpowering the rest of the room.
Sometimes the most impactful design choices are the quieter ones.

A room we designed around one piece.
This small space originally had us stumped. It was too compact for a traditional living area, but had too much potential to leave unused, so we created an intimate TV room centered around one meaningful piece: the client’s own artwork.
By pulling tones and texture from the art itself, the room instantly felt intentional, layered, and personal.

Two completely different moods. Same intentional design 👉
We love how materials, tone, and lighting can completely change the feeling of a space while still keeping it timeless and functional.
Are you choosing the light kitchen or the moody one?

1 design rule we break all the time: mixing metals,
In this penthouse primary bath, we layered chrome plumbing fixtures, black cabinet hardware, bronze sconces, and brass decorative accents to create a space that feels collected rather than overly matched.
When every finish is identical, a room can start to feel flat. Mixing metals adds depth, contrast, and a more lived-in sense of luxury, when it’s done intentionally.
