We just recently had an incredible journey developing a custom GPT assistant for WebWorks documentation, and we had to share it with you all. https://goto.webworks.com/thabook

What seemed like a mountain of a task was surprisingly straightforward. But the process had its own set of challenges and fascinating discoveries!
🌟 **Tailoring the Prompt: A Tricky Challenge**
One of the most challenging aspects was tailoring the prompts to perform retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using our specific documentation. Ensuring the AI didn't just rely on its pre-existing general knowledge but accurately retrieved and utilized content from our uploaded documents was crucial. It took some trial and error with different phrasing and emphasis in the prompts to get the AI to consistently refer back to our documentation. This was key in making sure the responses were specific to our products, CloudDrafts, and ePublisher, providing users with precise and helpful information.
🔍 **A Surprising Discovery**
The biggest surprise? The initial setup was much simpler than expected. The intuitive process on ChatGPT's website - https://chatgpt.com felt more like chatting with a friend than dealing with complex configurations. Upload the right documents, tweak a few settings, and the AI was ready to prioritize our content over its general knowledge base. This simplicity made the initial steps a breeze and set a solid foundation for the rest of the project.
