Mind Body Music Center
Mind Body Music, an Oasis in the city, is a boutique sound therapy studio offering individual sessions, classes and workshops to improve mind-body health.
Mind Body Music was created by music therapist, Andrea Cortez, MM, MT-BC, who provides individual sessions to manage stress and anxiety through music interventions. Andrea also leads community groups to teach sound meditation and to raise awareness of how music and sound can improve your health.
Communication does not only have to be through words, it does not even need to be transmission of thought. It can be a communing of feeling or energy. Sometimes the most profound connections happen without spoken language.

The wind naturally amplifies my harp as it vibrates each string. In person the resonance is amazing and ethereal.
I pluck a melody as the wind sings its own song with me on the harp πͺ

You can hear the plant responding to me fanning it with the palm leaf fan. The plant makes little high pitched tones as the harp is playing on a loop. πͺ΄πͺ΄
I didnβt realize it did that until I looked back at the recording.
The plant also responds to touch and during performance I interact with the plant to listen to this interaction like a musical conversation.
My plant is connected to a midi device that translates its bioenergy into musical notes.

The air element speaks to me π¨
The wind vibrates each string and activates all the harmonics of the strings at once. I never heard another sound like this.
Additionally we are standing in an ideal spot between 3 concrete structures that are amplifying the resonance of my harp and creating interesting sound wave interactions.
