I noticed it was sixty-eight degrees
It’s not as warm as ..oh, say seventy one.
If only humans could work as one … please
Sun’s more severe with each new rising dawn
Storms will get worse the sea levels will rise.
New York and Miami will be all wet
Oceans rise, this will not be a surprise
Innovative. Busy we need to get!
We need to lock carbon up from the air
Easily done if we could plant some trees
I don’t mean to disturb you or to scare
…and while we’re at it, we should save the bees
Two degrees is a difference I can feel
Our earth is warmer. Climate change is real.

No one can touch her – she’s never quite there
Her hair’s hardly straight – she travels in curls
Babe, if you hurt her you betta beware
She will not hurt your body, not one bit
She’ll cut you down with poetry so fine
Your head will spin…you’ll have a hissy fit
It’s better all around to just be kind
With her friends, she’s generous to a fault
She wears her tender heart upon her sleeve
When she does cry she tends to weep a lot
She’s wise enough, but she’s also naïve
Niobe’s not a name given at birth
Her single greatest asset is her mirth.

how dare you put our sons into danger
our daughters, too, must leave must go away
it seems to logic you are a stranger
what did those widdle hands get done today?!?
you sent our loved ones right across the sea
to fight a war nobody wants but you
it's useless to appeal to you - to plea
when they handed out brains they gave you few
donny...what do you think you're doing there?
why are you sending our ships and our crew?
all for a strait you don't even know where...
you feed us lies but we won't eat yer poo
how dare you drag this country into war
please tell me what the f**k we're fighting for.

I do not know every bush and berry
That grows on this planet – I’ll be frank
I was the game designer…I’m scary
Why do you smell of roses? It’s a stank
How could I know this berry grew out there?
I had no time to do a proper test
You must admit those dogs of mine had flair
In fact, this season’s ratings were the best!!!!
This is how I’m repaid? This small bowl?
I see quite clearly what you do expect
Mr. President, you don’t have a soul
Locked in a room!!!! With poison berries kept!!!!

We hardly talk yet I know you’re right there

we don't own words, they are ours to borrow
words are just ideas, given a form
once you speak them, they will be prone to grow
if they are spicy - they may cause a storm
communication is like that no lie
you can't get back the tea spilled from the cup
Your words go on to live they do not die
be careful when you decide to speak up
sticks and stones my butt, words can really hurt
take care that you are not cruel by mistake
forgive me if with you i seem quite curt
your sense of ownership makes my head ache
words have power, DO use them consciously
be cautious with the words that you set free

These sonnets explore classic monsters, tell horrifying tales, and imagine the caseload Death has!
Some are humorous, some are poignant….all are spooky!
So excited to bring this project to life! I’m working with some extremely talented artists to bring these sonnets to life.

When you have children you never feel safe
You always worry whether something will
Happen – accident, illness, or gun strafe
You do the best you can; try to instill
A sense of caution – quell the reckless urge
That kills so many in their teenage years
You childproof your house – danger you purge
When they’re not in your sight you fight your fears
Of any event which would cause them pain
To body, mind, or heart…it hurts us, too
The threats of life are every mother’s bane
We would spare you any harm; this is true
Life is dangerous – to grow you must hurt
All that a mom can do is be alert

You wonder why we hesitate to speak
Our bodies were like dolls and you all played
The guilty ones are those atop the peak
We spoke our truth… yet few arrests were made
Epstein admitted that he trafficked us
His girlfriend was convinced of these crimes
He died “alone” in his cell - highly sus
Some of us got to be r***d many times
For pedophiles, there is only one cure
A bullet to the brain will fix that quick
We will never be clean…no longer pure
We cannot risk to name those who are sick
If the powerful could get Epstein dead
What’s to protect us, once those names are said?

I would dismiss this, were it yet daylight
If I could see clearly every nook
I have a suspicion giving me fright
I think there’s someone here with me… I look
Around my room, but I can see no trace
Nothing has been disturbed or knocked around
Everything I have is in its right place
And yet I think I hear a subtle sound
The only place to hide is through that door
Did I leave it a bit open like that?
There’s someone there! And I am so done for
The door creaks wider and in walks my cat
She hid inside my closet like a creep!
I’m wide awake now, far too scared to sleep
