Earlier in life I seriously considered primatology as a career. It was seeing all the specials about that caught my attention. Of all the lives I’ve seen documented I think hers might’ve been the most interesting. She inspired me to go see chimps in the wild and even though it wasn’t her ape of choice she inspired me to go see orangutans as well. While we’re at it “Through a Window” is required reading for people that want to know what the root of human behavior is. Seeing what she was doing was one of the main reasons I decided to travel the world for so long. From such humble beginning to such great heights. The world is get poorer today than yesterday. RIP.

As many of the Austin Crew know we lost Scotty back in April. I haven’t said anything because I didn’t know what to say. He was a true character. As nice of a person as they come. Just a great guy that for sure will be missed.

The Death Star is almost fully operational!!

One of the faces on the Mt. Rushmore of surfing has gone home. This is one man’s work that everybody from 9-99 is familiar with—even if they don’t know it. Broke more new ground than arguably anyone. Had a hand in breakthroughs in pretty much every era. RIP.

The funniest man to ever live has left us. We’re all going to have to be a little funnier to pull in the slack. RIP.

As most of you have already learned, Greg Noll passed today. If you’ve enjoyed a board I built for you, he was one of the people that inspired me to take the life path that I have. Most surf culture is of little interest to me. It’s just something that someone else is doing. Greg Noll is someone who did things his way and at a level previously thought impossible. Incredibly humble and self-deprecating when everybody would understand if he wasn’t. Glad I got to meet you. RIP!!!
