Let’s ride! 🚴‍♀️ Get pumped for Kids on Bikes in Parks this Saturday, May 23rd!

📍 WHERE: Chicano Park
⏰ WHEN: 8-11 AM
🧍‍♂️ WHO: Kids ages 5-15
❓ WHAT: A free closed course on grassy parkland for kids to ride their bikes, including:

• Lessons from experienced cyclists
• Giveaways from Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop
• Races against other junior cyclists

No bike? No problem! We've got bikes from woombikes on hand for kids to use.

Skyline views coming soon! 🏙️

The Wishbone Bridge & Unity Underpass have been open since early February 2026. But there is an enhancement on the horizon where the skyline meets the shoreline. At the end of May, the city will open the Skyline Overlook along Longhorn Shores to the community! 🎉

The overlook (35’ wide and 45’ in length) is perched along the edge of Lady Bird Lake and has a great view of the city skyline.

One year ago, the Holly Fishing Pier opened to the community — and since then, it’s become so much more than a place to fish. It’s become a gathering space for learning, celebration, art, and connection.

Over the past year, the pier has been home to some incredible moments:
🎣 In July, the next generation of anglers cast their lines during a community fishing derby with the Mendez Recreation Center.
☃️ In December, families gathered along the waterfront to celebrate the season at Santa on the Trail.
🎨 In March, the site welcomed artist T.J. Lemanski’s 2026 TEMPO on the Trail installation, Cenotaphs.
🪻 And this May, the first wildflowers of the season bloomed nearby — a reminder that this space continues to grow alongside the community.

Here’s to one year of memories at the Holly Fishing Pier, and many more to come.

Get Cyc-ed! 🚲 Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 15! This year, there will be Fueling Stations all across the greater Austin area with free food, activities, and services for cyclists, and we’re one of them!
