The new path is wide enough for two way bike and pedestrian traffic and features crosswalks with on-demand PHB (pedestrian hybrid beacons) at Pleasant Valley Rd North and South of the dam to provide safe and prioritized crossing.
The path links the north and south sides of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail and allows access to Roy G Guerrero Park.

Protecting, enhancing and connecting the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake.

The Holly Shores Trail Segment was opened this year! This new segment provides an ADA-accessible realignment of the Trail and ecological restoration of the shoreline habitat. Have you explored this part of the Trail yet?!
This year TTC unveiled Common Waters, a floating wetland installation created as part of the Arts + Culture plan that explored themes of creativity, environment, and community. Check it out!
Thank you to our artists Taylor Davis, Ruben Esquivel, and Regina Thomas, for their hard work in designing, fabricating, and installing this project.

As 2022 draws to a close, we reflect on our milestones and accomplishments with you, our biggest supporters. Your deep commitment to support the Trail helps us achieve our mission of protecting, enhancing, and connecting the Trail for generations to come.
Stay tuned this week for a few of our favorite highlights from the year 🌳

Happy Birthday to Lady Bird Johnson! 🌼 Among Lady Bird's numerous environmental accomplishments was the movement to beautify Town Lake(now Lady Bird Lake), which began as a vision by her and Ann Butler. Today, the Trail stands as a testament to their vision and hard work!

It’s the first Day of winter ❄️ Be sure to take precautions to stay safe for the upcoming freezing temperatures!

You probably don’t “mist” the fog, but our plants sure do! Did you know that fog is great for the plants on the Trail? Our native bromeliads are “air plants” that quench their thirst by slurping up fog droplets through their leaves!

On this day in 1971, the Town lake Beautification Committee was formed. The committee set out to create a scenic corridor of hiking trails and landscaping that would allow Austinites the opportunity to experience a natural escape in an urban setting. That effort launched the beginning of what we now call the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.
Thank you all for your support and celebration of the Trail's 50 year anniversary. Now we look forward to the next 50 years and how we can ensure the Trail's future for generations to come.
Happy Thursday Austin! It’s almost Friday. 😄🎉

Fifty years ago, the Town Lake Beautification Committee, with Lady Bird Johnson and Ann Butler at the helm, raised more than $50,000 to support the development of the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, as it’s known today. In 2003, The Trail Conservancy was formed to continue that legacy for Austin. Today, your donation will directly support the programs, projects, and maintenance on the Trail and its surrounding parkland.
