The Eastside Family Garden will revitalize over 2 acres of neglected parkland on the Northeast shore of the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, creating a recreational space that blends traditional playscapes, nature play, and inviting gathering areas—all purposefully designed with shade, native restoration, and water access in mind.

Plants like Cat’s-claw vine grow aggressively and compete with native, diverse plant life for resources. Biodiversity on the Trail helps us promote thriving ecosystems for flora and fauna, so the removal of these aggressive-growth species helps us make room for new plants and seeds.
