Our Concerning Modern Motherhood event was a beautiful reminder of how powerful honest conversations can be. We were honored to welcome filmmaker Laura Dunn for an intimate discussion exploring feminism, identity, and the evolving experience of motherhood.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a thoughtful, engaging evening. The conversation doesn’t end here—this is just the beginning. RSVP for the next one using the link in our bio—and invite your girlfriends!

Miss last week’s events? Catch up with us on our podcast! In this episode, we sit down with Adam Kissel, Rachel Alexander Cambre, and Madison Marino Doan to discuss their research on the eight Ivy League universities and how their general education curricula have shifted over the years-and not for the better. When a student today can receive a world-renowned degree by learning about Cardi B where their contemporaries a century ago might have been learning about Shakespeare or Aristotle, what does Ivy League status truly amount to in the modern world, and how easy is it to slack one’s way to the illusion of education?

Women on the pill, female CEOs, women abhorring becoming mothers: is this all that feminism has to preach? What if—as author, spouse, and mother Leah Libresco Sargeant argues in her most recent book—real feminism starts by acknowledging how radically different men and women are? And how radically interdependent? Far from suggesting a “trad wife” model-one that thinks that all solutions should be found in 1952—Leah helps us rediscover our nature, rethink some of our policies, and embrace our dependence.

What happens when the ordinary world cracks—and something else slips in?

Join us for a short reading group exploring one of literature’s most enduring motifs: the child taken, lured, or transformed by malevolent forces. From Machen and Yeats to Lovecraft and Mark Fisher, we’ll trace how the weird and the eerie reveal evil’s unsettling proximity to everyday life. We’ll close with a discussion of Daniel Kolitz’s “The Goon Squad”—a haunting look at online subculture and influence.

📖 No prior expertise required—just curiosity and a willingness to read closely.
🗓 First Meeting: Feb 24, 2026 | 9:00–10:00 AM
👥 Open to all

Led by John Greil, law professor at UT Austin. RSVP link in bio!
