If you were at our game Saturday, you may have noticed a memorial for an old friend of TXRG, Werner Campbell, producer of the infamous 2007 roller derby documentary, Hell On Wheels.

Werner not only spent several years filming the documentary, he also helped our league find our name. Werner along with Director Bob Ray originally planned on naming the film "Texas Rollergirls" but generously gave our league the domain name immediately after the infamous split from the BGGW banked track league. And the rest is derby history!

Thank you Werner for being the dear friend to our early league members. TXRG and roller derby world wide will always appreciate your vision and commitment in capturing the birth of modern roller derby.
