Craig Heller, physiologist and biologist at Stanford University, found that temperature regulation could enhance athletic performance via cooling special blood vessels in the palms, feet and face as long as the blood vessels were not compressed or restricted. The hollow cavity in Pushrs plus the open palm grip give us the opportunity to experiment with cooling the palms. If you want to try this on your own:
1. Very important: do not freeze the hands. This will not only negate what you are trying to achieve, it may create tissue damage. The idea is to cool, not make cold or freeze. It should be comfortable.
2. You don’t need much water to fill in the gaps between the rubber slats that make up the inside of Pushrs. Approximately 1/4 cup (60 ml)
3. Do your exercise activity outside or on a thick towel. Once that ice melts, it will leak out. You can also try freezing or cooling Pushrs in the refrigerator or freezer without adding any water.

This guy’s instructor is so mean. PUSHRS and TRX combined to make the ultimate stability challenge. This advanced strength training technique is not at all as easy as doing regular pushups. All of the small supporting muscles don’t have a choice but to activate. This will also get the heart rate up.
