How Mindfulness Helps You Find Your Way Through Difficulty
By Ed Halliwell
Dear Mindful Readers,
How much time do we spend resisting feelings of pain and discomfort? Research suggests that turning toward these feelings, investigating them with mindfulness and gentleness, can yield benefits. Here are three ways you can stay present when things get tough:
1) Practice intentional breathing. This deep breathing technique defuses stress.
2) Build resilience. Explore these 5 science-backed strategies for fostering a healthier approach to rocky roads.
3) Find your “awe moments". Research shows that brief experiences of awe—like enjoying the sight of a towering tree—can help reduce stress in amidst life’s daily challenges. Try this 360 virtual-reality guided awe walk.
Here’s hoping you all find moments to enjoy being mindful this week.
Yours,

The Buddhist had a handle on this whole mindfulness, meditation, and compassion stuff 2500 years ago. One might say they invented it. OK, maybe that's a stretch. Anyway, now we are catching on to the idea (ideology), better late than never. I want to share with you this free Meditation Guide. If the word "Buddist" is troubling and keeps you from picking it up, try changing it to, Helpful Meditation or Relaxing Meditation or Very Cool Meditation. It is really all just the same. The important part is that you pick it up!
