What happens after the walls are painted and the ceilings go in on a commercial construction project? ⚡⛪

We're back at Redeemer Church in Dripping Springs, entering one of the most important phases of commercial electrical construction: electrical trim-out.

If you've been following this project, you've seen it evolve from exposed rafters and rough-in wiring to a nearly finished facility. Now we're installing the final electrical devices that people interact with every day.

During the trim-out phase, our team is:

- Installing receptacles and outlets
- Installing Decora switches and cover plates

Installing light fixtures, exit signs, flood lights, etc.
- Completing final electrical terminations
- Verifying circuit labeling inside the electrical panel
- Preparing the building for final inspection and walkthrough
This stage may look simple, but it's where attention to detail matters most.

Improperly terminated devices, missing labels, or poorly organized circuits can create headaches for future maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety inspections.

That's why every circuit is carefully identified, every connection is verified, and every wire is secured before the building is energized.

One thing many people don't realize is that commercial construction is all about coordination. Electricians, HVAC contractors, painters, ceiling installers, and inspectors all have to work together in the right sequence to keep the project moving forward.

Have you ever wondered how many different trades have to work together before a commercial building is ready to open?

And if you were handed the keys to a building tomorrow, would you know how to identify which breaker controls which area?

Commercial projects get interesting near the finish line.

We’re back out at Redeemer Church in Dripping Springs, pushing through the final stretch of this commercial construction project.

At this stage, it’s not just electrical work — it’s coordination.

Painters. HVAC crews. Ceiling installers. Multiple contractors all working toward the same deadline.

Our team is finishing panel terminations, organizing and labeling circuits, and coordinating the final power needs so the rest of the project can keep moving.

You’ll also spot MC cable throughout the project — a commercial wiring standard for durability and code compliance in commercial spaces.

Why does this matter?

Because without clean coordination at the end of a build, projects can face:

1) Delays between trades
2) Confusing electrical panels
3) Slower maintenance and troubleshooting later on

Clear labeling, organized panels, and tight contractor coordination help keep projects safer, cleaner, and on schedule.

If your commercial project was nearing the finish line… would your electrical team be helping move the project forward or slowing it down?

And here's a question — would you know where to shut off the correct circuit in your building if you needed to?

Pool. Sauna. Detached structure. Same meter.
At some point, all those upgrades start asking the same question:

Can your electrical service actually handle it?

We’re out on a residential project helping a homeowner prepare for a growing list of power demands — including a new pool, sauna, and additional service needs around the property.

That meant stepping into a 320-amp service upgrade, coordinating trenching, navigating around utilities and propane lines, and building a system that’s ready for what’s coming next.

Here’s why upgrades like this matter:

When a home doesn’t have enough electrical capacity, you can run into tripped breakers, overloaded panels, unreliable equipment performance, or costly limitations on future upgrades. Nobody wants their pool heater, sauna, or major appliances competing for power.

A properly sized service upgrade helps give the homeowner:

- Room for future additions
- Safer electrical load management
- Reliable power for high-demand equipment
- Less risk of overloaded circuits and panel strain

If you added a pool, sauna, workshop, EV charger, or guest house tomorrow… would your electrical service be ready?

What’s the one home upgrade you’d love to add if power wasn’t the limiting factor?

Out in Bee Cave working on a backup power solution where reliability isn’t optional.

This facility has a critical challenge: protecting sensitive stem cell materials during a power outage.

They already have a solar array and SMA Sunny Boy inverter system, but solar alone can’t always carry the load — especially when the sun isn’t shining, power demand is high, or in the unfortunate event of a power outage.

That’s where backup power comes in.

Our team is installing a Generac backup generator to help ensure critical systems stay powered when outages happen.

This project is a great example of why backup power matters for facilities with high electrical demands:

- Emergency power during outages
- Support for critical equipment and sensitive materials
- Backup when solar production drops or disappears
- Long-term power reliability and peace of mind

Would you know what to do if your business lost power unexpectedly?

If your operations rely on critical equipment, planning for backup power isn’t something to wait on.

Back out in Dripping Springs (Trautwein Rd.) — showing the next phase of this residential construction project coming together.

A few weeks back, we handled the underground electrical line from the meter to the home. Now that the foundation is poured and the roof is up, it’s our turn to step back in and start the interior electrical work.

Here’s what we’re working on now:
1. Installing the load center (main panel location)
2. Running home runs — wiring that brings power back to one central point
3. Preparing the system so homeowners can control major electrical loads
4. Coordinating with framers, roofers, and upcoming sheetrock crews

In new construction, timing is everything. Electrical work has to be done at the right stage — before walls go up — so everything is clean, safe, and built to last.

Out on an emergency service call in Spanish Oaks (Dripping Springs), and this is a good reminder that not all electrical issues are visible at first glance.

In this home, we found Gen 2 Eaton breakers running hot, which can be a serious safety concern if left unaddressed.

Here’s what to watch for:

Breakers that feel warm or hot to the touch
Flickering lights or inconsistent power
Frequent tripping or unusual smells

In this case, the solution was clear, replace the failing breakers and bring the panel back to safe operating condition.

Electrical issues don’t always wait for a convenient time. That’s why we respond when it matters most.

Out near Dripping Springs setting up welder power the right way.

This project involved running new power from the panel, through conduit, and into dedicated outlets to safely support welding equipment.

Here’s what we handled:
- Installing dedicated welder circuits
- Running clean conduit from the panel
- Adding breakers to support the new load
- Ensuring everything is safe and code-compliant

When you’re working with equipment like welders, having properly installed power isn’t optional — it’s critical for safety and performance.

If you’re adding equipment to your shop or workspace, make sure your electrical system is built to handle it.
