As Cancer Survival Improves, We Must Transform Survivorship Care 06/01/2026

Survivorship deserves just as much attention as treatment.

As survivorship continues to grow, so does the need for emotional support, advocacy, personalized information, and whole-person care.

Cancer care doesn’t end when treatment does.

As Cancer Survival Improves, We Must Transform Survivorship Care As cancer survival reaches 70%, ACS experts Arif Kamal, MD, and Nicole Stout, DPT, highlight the need to transform survivorship care.

What does a cancer advocate actually do? 💚

Advocacy means more than answering questions. It means helping people feel informed, supported, and less alone through every part of the cancer journey.

From explaining complex medical information to preparing for appointments, coordinating care, and supporting treatment decisions, advocacy is about making sure your voice stays part of your care.

You deserve support that sees the whole person — not just the diagnosis.

Meet Jerry Henderson MD MBA FACP CHCIO, our Chief Medical Officer.

As PotentiaMetrics’ Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jerry Henderson leads the clinical data registries and analytics platforms that power Capire360, helping transform complex real-world outcomes data into meaningful support for people facing cancer. He also works closely with Ardynn’s advocacy team, ensuring advocates have the tools and insights they need to guide members with confidence and clarity.

Jerry’s passion for improving cancer care is deeply personal and grounded in decades of frontline experience.

“For over a decade, I ran the cancer-only ER at MD Anderson, where I witnessed countless patients blindsided by side effects of treatment. When I became Director of Informatics, I was appalled by the staggering costs of treatments that frequently failed to extend or enhance life. When I encountered the Capire360 model, I recognized its potential to help patients. I’ve committed to enhancing its application and making it a standard of care.”

Dr. Henderson’s leadership journey includes:

- Practicing oncologic emergency medicine physician, bringing firsthand insight into the realities people with cancer face every day.

- Former Chair of the Informatics Governance and Inpatient Clinical Informatics Committees at MD Anderson.

- Founder of the world’s first Oncologic Emergency Medicine fellowship program.

- Creator of the Zero-G software program, earning MD Anderson’s Innovator of the Year Award in 2013.

- Advanced training in healthcare leadership and value measurement through Rice University and Harvard Business School Executive Education.

At Ardynn, Jerry’s work reflects a powerful belief: people deserve clearer information, more personalized support, and care decisions informed by real-world outcomes, not uncertainty alone.

We’re grateful for Jerry’s vision, compassion, and relentless commitment to improving the future of cancer care.

Some things about cancer don’t get talked about enough.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, emotional, exhausted, or simply not like yourself, you are not alone.

At Ardynn, we believe support means caring for the whole person, not just the diagnosis. 💚

The hardest part of cancer is often uncertainty.
When you’re diagnosed with cancer, the decisions can feel overwhelming.

Many people are asked to make life-changing treatment decisions without fully understanding:

- likely outcomes
- treatment tradeoffs
- quality-of-life implications
- or what questions to ask

At Ardynn, we believe people deserve clearer, more personalized information to help them take a more active role in their care decisions.

That’s why we created Personalized Shared Decision-Making (PSDM). Watch the full video to learn more.
