We’re loving the viral broth bowl trend!
We always keep our freezer stocked with Omaha Steaks ground beef (whether it’s ultra-premium, lean, or Wagyu ground beef) which makes whipping up meals like this super quick and easy.
This recipe is super versatile and really customizable - but this version of the recipe is a surefire winner:
Crispy Ground Beef
- 1 pound Omaha Steaks ground beef
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- Pinch of baking soda
- ⅓ cup soy sauce or tamari
- 3 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Coconut Curry Broth
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tap freshly grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp red Thai curry paste
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 15 ounce can of coconut milk
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
1. Add a pinch of baking soda mixed with a splash of water to the ground beef and mix. Let sit for 5-20 minutes, this will help the ground beef to get crispy.
2. Add the toasted sesame oil to a large skillet and add the ground beef, salt, and pepper and let cook until brown.
3. Meanwhile mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar.
4. Add the fresh garlic and ginger to ground beef and saute for 1 minute.
5. Add the sauce to the pan with the ground beef and mix together. Let cook, without stirring, until the sauce starts to caramelize, and the bottom of the ground beef gets crispy. Then remove the ground beef from the pan and set aside.
6. To make the broth, add more toasted sesame oil to the skillet and saute the garlic and ginger until fragrant, then add the red curry paste.
7. Mix and cook the paste for a minute and then add the beef broth, coconut milk, fish sauce, and soy sauce. Use a whisk to combine all ingredients and to scrape the bits off of the pan. Bring the broth to a gentle boil then reduce down to a simmer and let cook for 3 minutes.
8. To assemble the ground beef broth bowls, scoop rice into the bowl in a heap, then spoon in a heap of ground beef mixture. Ladle the broth in the bowl and top with cucumbers, scallions, and chili oil.

🥭 We took our grilled chicken to the next level with both a mango habanero glaze, and a simple mango salsa to finish it off. Mango adds a punch of flavor to everyday grilled chicken. Juicy, sweet mango perfectly balances the kiss of heat from the habanero peppers. It’s a match made in heaven!
National Mango Board
Mango Habanero Chicken Glaze Recipe:
- 6 chicken thighs, seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder
- 1 cup diced mango
- 1 small habanero, seeded
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp ginger, minced
- Fresh lime juice from one lime
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 tsp salt
1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
2. Season the chicken with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp paprika.
3. In a blender mix together the mango, habanero, garlic, ginger, lime juice, honey, salt and water until smooth
4. Add the chicken to the grill
5. Grill the chicken until the internal temp reaches 165 degrees F.
During the last 2 minutes, baste with the mango habanero glaze.
6. Chop up 2 mangos, 1/4 cup onion, 1 Tbsp diced jalapeño, and 1/4 cup red pepper for mango salsa. Add cilantro, fresh lime juice and salt.
7. Optional to finish: Add the chicken on top of rice, baste with additional mango habanero glaze and top with a simple mango salsa using chopped mango, red bell pepper, and onion.
We came to Miami for its Spice, but stayed for the vibrant culture. On our Greater Miami & Miami Beach trip we stayed all over town, relaxed, ate food from all over the world, and enjoyed the art scene.
Here are some of the best things to do for a Miami getaway:
Stay at the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach hotel for a Japanese beach house vibe, an amazing spa Esencia Wellness, and the world famous iconic restaurant. Or if you want to experience downtown Miami vibes we also loved being in the heart of Brickell at the Brickell Arch Hotel.
Dinner and a show at the Faena Hotel. Head to the Hotel and start your night at the Top Chef winning Paul Qui’s Pao by Paul Qui. From there head to the intimate for a show, we loved seeing the Obsession at Faena Theater.
Experience culture, history, and tasty bites on a tour of Little Havana with Miami Culinary Tours. We had never had a Cuban empanada before, and loved it more than empanadas we’ve had in South America.
Wander around the sculpture garden and modern art at Pérez Art Museum Miami Miami’s flagship art museum.
Relax with your toes in the sand at Miami Beach or lounge by the pool and enjoy the sunshine!
You’re 30 minutes away from a fun weeknight meal that will rival any takeout joint.
Make beef gyro meat right at home using a sheet pan.
We leveled up this recipe by using Omaha Steaks premium Wagyu ground beef. It’s rich, tender and buttery and tastes delicious with all the middle eastern spices.
Make it ahead of time for an easy meal prep solution.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Omaha Steaks ground wagyu beef
- ½ white onion, grated
- 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon zaatar
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 5 pieces of parchment paper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the meat together in a bowl with onion, garlic, olive oil, yogurt, and spices.
Divide into quarters. Scoop a quarter of the meat onto parchment paper. Cover with another piece of parchment paper, and use a rolling pin to flatten to about ¼ inch thick.
Remove the top layer of parchment paper, then roll the meat on the single sheet of parchment paper and place on a cookie sheet.
Repeat three more times.
Bake the baking sheet of the 4 rolled up parchment papers in the oven for 30 minutes.
Remove and shred.
If you’d like crisper edges, feel free to broil the pieces for 2 minutes to get it extra crispy.
Serve in pitas with the toppings and fillings of your choice.
Fly fishing on a whole ‘nother level!🎣
One of the best Alaskan adventures we shared was fly fishing with Alaska Fishing & Raft Advntrs outside of Fairbanks, Alaska.
When fly fishing in the past in other destinations, we both spent the whole day casting and only walked away one fish total.
On the Fairbanks Delta Clearwater River we truly lost count of the Trophy size Arctic Grayling that we caught. The water was crystal clear and the fish biting all day was so exhilarating.
Beyond the fishing, we loved the fresh Alaskan air in our face as we cruised in their custom made jet boat that was able to get us to the most remote parts of the gorgeous river. The boat ride was an adventure in itself!
No matter your fishing experience, add this outdoor adventure to your Explore Fairbanks itinerary!
There’s truly nothing cooler (literally) than sipping on an appletini 🍏 in a hand carved ice glass while admiring world class art made out of ice.
It’s both 🔥 Hot & Cold 🧊 at the famous Chena Hot Springs Resort resort right outside of Fairbanks, Alaska.
No matter your temperature preference, a visit to Chena is crucial when planning your Explore Fairbanks itinerary.
The Aurora Ice Museum was an instaworthy, bucket list activity that we had to hit when coming to Fairbanks. This spot totally lives up to the hype.
We also loved that we could instantly warm up in their healing natural hot springs while soaking in the endless Alaskan nature. 🧖♀️
Most people think about visiting Fairbanks, Alaska during the winter to see the aurora borealis.
Visiting in summer offers almost 24 hours of daylight that gives you the opportunity to pack in so many amazing adventures:
- Panning for gold at Gold Daughters
- Holding wooly mammoth bones and other fossils from John Reeves
- Listening to live music at mining camp-turned-saloon malemute_saloon
- Visiting Santa and the reindeer in North Pole, Alaska at Santa Claus House - North Pole, Alaska
- Fly fishing with Alaska Fishing & Raft Advntrs
- Relaxing in the mountains at Lodge at Black Rapids
- Enjoying a Alaska Salmon Bake and wandering through Pioneer Park
- Exploring the Chena River on a Riverboat Discovery adventure
- Discovering downtown Fairbanks
- Eating lots of global specialities!
