This time - 4 ish years ago I served my first official caterin’ and it sparked something in me I knew I never wanted to end. I had been in the restaurant industry for 8 years and I knew I wanted to serve the community something better, with my vision, my flare, my seasonin’. So I went for it. But, one of the things that they dont tell you as an entreprenuer is that stability doesnt come without tireless sacrifice. That 120 hour work weeks are a norm and you now got them business owner problems. Inflation is a mf. But it never seems like a bad thing, until it is. I battle with social media because I’m an in person type of gal. I feel like of you want to know someone you should do it in person. Idk. But, I dont really tell my business so when I took a pause on MARinATED by shifting to only CATERin’ and Meal Preppin’ it seemed like I fell off to everyone but the FAM that I served. I aint een gone lie it was tough stepping away. It was hard having to choose worldly things like bills and stability over my dreams. MARinATED is something so much bigger than what it is right now. Elite Sustenance is more than me saying my food is the best. Its a promise that I am always going to give you my best. We as a community deserve the Elite things. And we dont have to eat Mediterranean to do it. When I sat at my dining table brainstorming a name for my business I knew I wanted my business to spread a message of “I take my time to get it right. You got to sit still sometimes and get seasoned to be the best you can be.” And “marinated” was born. 4 years of serving communities Elite Sustenance and I am so happy to say this is just the beginning!
