UTeach started at The University of Texas at Austin in 1997 as a new way to prepare secondary science, math and computer science teachers. If you are an undergraduate who wants to teach, a college graduate who wants to return for certification, a new teacher who wants to learn more, or an experienced teacher who wants to get involved, then UTeach is for you.

As the fall semester begins, we’re still remembering all the amazing longhorns we met at summer orientation! Teachers have the ability to make a long-lasting impact on their students, and we loved hearing about everyone’s favorite teacher! 🍎✏️

Jeffrey Hernandez is off to teach algebra I & geometry at Round Rock High School! Jeffrey graduated Spring 2026 with his B.S.A. and teaching certificate in mathematics. We are so excited for his future in teaching! 🍎✏️

Emma Kosnar is headed to Lewisville High School Harmon to teach 9th grade biology! Emma graduated in Spring 2026 with her B.S. in chemistry and her composite science teaching certificate. We cannot wait to see the impact she will make as a teacher!
