Bartender competition community using media and events to increase industry opportunities

Photos from SpeedRailz's post 31/05/2026

Congratulations to & and the team at for taking home the inaugural ATX Pull-Up Series powered by .

Over a 10-day period, bartenders invited their guests, regulars, friends, and supporters to check in through Disgo when they visited. In the end, Lucille’s came out on top.

What makes this challenge so interesting is that it gives us a way to measure something that usually goes untracked: a bartender’s ability to bring people together and create a community around their bar.

During our interview, Jake touched on a couple of things that have helped Lucille’s continue to grow. One is adapting to the changing landscape of Rainey Street, including creating more dog-friendly outdoor spaces that make it easier for residents and visitors to stop by and stay awhile. The second is something every great bartender understands: using slower shifts to build real relationships. Weekend volume is great, but it’s those one-on-one conversations during the quieter moments that turn first-time guests into regulars.

Pair that with great cocktails and a team that genuinely cares about hospitality, and the results start to make sense.

Huge shoutout to Lucille’s for taking the title.

If you’re out exploring Austin, go pull up on them, check in through , and discover some of the other great bars and hospitality professionals helping make this city special.

Austin, we have our champions.

After weeks of venue visits, bartender spotlights, industry interviews, networking events, and competition, the Railz on Rainey Championship came down to exactly the matchup many people predicted:

Team Only The Wild Ones vs. Team Aba.

The #1 seed versus one of the most experienced teams in the field.

And it delivered.

Only The Wild Ones posted a blazing 2:17 raw time, while Aba came in at 2:27. Both teams incurred ingredient infractions, but when the dust settled, the margin of victory was less than four seconds.

That’s how close this thing was.

Congratulations to and .ivory of for taking home the championship and proving that chemistry, preparation, and ex*****on still win the day.

Shoutout to and from Aba for an incredible run and one of the strongest performances of the entire tournament.

A huge thank you to every bartender, venue, operator, and hospitality professional who welcomed us into their spaces and helped make this Austin campaign possible.

Special thanks to our partners , , and , and to for being an incredible host venue and helping us close out this campaign the right way.

Austin, thank you for the stories, the hospitality, and the competition.

Until next time 🫡

Not every dangerous team comes from the big city.

Sometimes they come out of Belton, Texas.

and are representing the small-town craft cocktail scene, bringing serious hospitality experience and something a lot of people overlook… hunger.

Jalen’s got experience. This is Jacob’s first time stepping into the madness.

But they came into the qualifier understanding exactly what needed to happen and proved they belong in the conversation.

That’s what SpeedRailz is about too. Giving bartenders outside the major city spotlight a chance to network, get exposure, represent where they work, and show they can run with anybody.

Now they get their shot at finals.

Tomorrow at .
Let’s see if Belton can steal one from Austin.

One of the most underrated parts of building a great bar team?

Chemistry.

Speed is one thing. Technique is another. But when two people genuinely know how to move with each other, trust each other, and stay calm under pressure… that’s where things get dangerous.

That’s exactly what we saw from the team representing , Austin’s new wine + vinyl listening lounge.

Best friends. Entrepreneurs. Industry vets.

Which makes a lot of sense when you realize they came into the qualifier and locked down the #1 seed with one of the fastest times of the night and the fewest infractions in the field.

Now the question is…

How much faster can they get?

Catch them at the Railz on Rainey Finals Wednesday at .

When veterans step into the arena, the conversation changes.

and from aren’t just fast. They’re experienced.

Former SpeedRailz relay champions, proven vets, and one of the most tactical teams in the bracket.

Their qualifier recap says a lot about why they’re dangerous: stay calm, stay level-headed, keep it fun, and then obsess over the little movements that can shave seconds off your time.

That’s what separates good teams from championship teams.

This isn’t a team trying to learn how to compete.
This is a fast team trying to figure out how to go even faster.

And trust us… the rest of the bracket knows it.

Catch them tomorrow at the Railz on Rainey Finals at .

Dani has been part of Austin launch since day one.

She was part of the very first relay team to take home the title here in Austin two years ago, and over the past few months, she’s also been helping us behind the scenes on the media and content side.

But apparently being behind the camera wasn’t enough.

She wants all the smoke 💨

Now she’s stepping into the Railz on Rainey finals representing Aba alongside one of her coworker and former championship teammates, and they’re heading into the tournament as the #3 seed.

Veteran experience. Team chemistry. Something to prove.

In the meantime, go pull up on and at , check in through to help them climb the Pull-Up Challenge leaderboard (and give yourself a shot at cash too).

Then come watch it all go down May 27 at .
