A lot of athletes train their body…
But never train their inner world.
Pressure exposes what’s happening internally:
ego
fear
insecurity
emotional instability
lack of presence
📖 The Power of Now
💬 Do you think mental chaos affects performance?
Feeling overwhelmed as a young athlete? You're not alone. Here's what I wish I knew earlier...
We often chase perfection or a spot as a starter? But at what cost?
I've been there... burnout, stress, feeling like the world's on my shoulders. It's tough but I found some simple ways to manage it.
Start with day journaling... just writing down whatever's on your mind has been a game changer for me.
No rules, no pressure.
I also a highly suggest reading the book called, The Power of Now, which has helped me learn how to stay present and silence that voice in my head that never stops.
If you're trying to stay grounded, give these a shot, you'll think yourself later.
The strongest players don’t react to every situation.
They regulate themselves.
Thermometers react.
Thermostats set the environment
💬 Which one are you right now?
Most players don’t need more motivation. They need trust.
Real development starts when athletes believe:
• you care about them
• your standards are real
• and your environment is built for growth
That’s when buy-in happens. And without buy-in… there is no development.

Most players don’t need more drills… they need better environments.
Real development doesn’t start with skill — it starts with trust, leadership, and example.
If your players don’t believe in you, they’ll never fully buy in.
And if there’s no buy-in… there’s no real growth.
This is what building athletes actually looks like.
🏀 It’s more than a game.
Don’t just choose trainers based on highlights.
Look for people who teach:
- spacing
- reads
- timing
- decision-making
- WHY the game works
That’s real development.
💬 What’s the biggest thing a coach/trainer ever taught you?
The best players don’t avoid bad games.
They recover from them faster.
Dunks and lobs are not just highlights.
They are high-level basketball actions.
For guards, it is timing, touch, angle, and reading the help.
For bigs, it is screening, rolling, spacing, showing hands, and being ready.
At higher levels, easy points come from pressure + timing + decision-making.
That is basketball IQ.

All coaches & trainers should ask:
What are we really building?
Because community isn’t:
❌ a team
❌ a brand
❌ a group chat
It’s this.
Showing up when it’s not about basketball.
Standing on who you are when it matters most.
Being there when someone actually needs you.
That’s what young athletes need more of.
Not just training.
Not just exposure.
A real support system.
That’s the gap in Austin right now.
And that’s what we’re building:
A community where athletes can lean in
and know they’re not doing this alone.
Because real development doesn’t start in the gym…
It starts with the people around you.
