Today, we hosted the inaugural National Public Utilities Council Decarbonization Solutions Forum, where SMUD, Zpryme, Motive Power and other utilities came together to have in-depth and solutions-oriented discussions around decarbonization.
SMUD Board Vice President, Rosanna Herber, welcomed everyone to the event and expressed gratitude for all the collaboration and innovation being brought to the table. Our Chief Zero Carbon Officer, Lora Anguay, shared SMUD's industry-leading decarbonization work and talked about how we're navigating our way through the complex but necessary journey toward decarbonizing our grid. SMUD Director Rhonda Staley-Brooks also discussed the future of decarbonization and how we're partnering closely with our community to bring more equitable solutions to our region as part of our 2030 Clean Energy Vision.

Biden awards $2.8 billion to boost U.S. minerals output for EV batteries The Biden administration said on Wednesday it is awarding $2.8 billion in grants to boost U.S. production of electric vehicle batteries and the minerals used to build them, part of a bid to wean the country off supplies from China.
