Axel's favorite part of his job is finding assistive technology solutions for students and D&A staff alike. He loves discovering what works for each person's individual accessibility needs and is proud of the dedication and hard work D&A puts into prioritizing access at UT.

Outside of work, Axel spends time hiking and exploring the outdoors with his dog. He is also a big music fan — the live music scene is part of what brought him to Austin. His dream trip is to see the night sky at Big Bend National Park.

Meet Amanda Winfield, the outreach and education coordinator for Disability and Access and the Disability Cultural Center. 🤘 You might see her at orientation or DCC events!

Amanda's favorite part of her job is connecting students with resources and building partnerships that make learning more accessible. She's proud to be part of a team dedicated to helping students succeed at UT.

Outside of work, Amanda loves thrifting and antiquing for unique finds. She's also looking forward to a trip to Paris this fall and dreams of visiting Japan one day.

Help D&A and the DCC better meet the needs of students with disabilities!

As a member of the D&A-DCC Student Advisory Committee, you'll foster leadership skills, expand your knowledge of disability topics and support solutions for disability-related concerns on campus.

Today, we're highlighting Josh Carra, an access coordinator at D&A. 🤘

Josh loves working with students. As someone with dyslexia and a younger brother on the spectrum, he values helping students access the support they need to succeed.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys running, reading and drawing. His dream trip is Istanbul, and his favorite book, album and movie are East of Eden, Where Did Our Love Go by The Supremes and The Princess Bride.

Meet Zariah Preston, LMSW, a senior access coordinator at D&A. 🤘 New Longhorns might meet her when reaching out for accommodations.

Zariah loves the problem-solving side of her job. She works to eliminate barriers, support students in accessing their education and collaborate with campus partners to make accessibility happen. She is proud of how hard and collaboratively Disability and Access team members work to serve a large volume of students with a wide range of needs.

Outside of work, Zariah enjoys golfing with her husband, spending time with family and friends, hanging out with her puppy Storm, working out and serving in her community. Her dream trip is an extended vacation through Europe, though she will never turn down a tropical beach.

As an access coordinator, Sameera works with students to help them navigate disability-related accommodations and support at UT Austin. She is proud to be part of a team dedicated to helping Longhorns succeed.

Outside of work, Sameera enjoys hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, and going for walks. Her dream trip is Costa Rica for the rainforest and wildlife.
