MacOS Update Accidentally Undoes Apple's "Root" Bug Patch The company's fix for an embarrassing security bug includes a big bug of its own.

Heads up. High Sierra for MacOS (10.13.x) has a massive security hole. If you get a pop up from the system asking for username and password for the computer, you can now just type "root" and enter and bypass that critical permission.

This one is actually kind of a big deal. Sara and I talked tonight. for the LTO computers we're doing a suspension of all new software installs and updates till Apple issues a patch. We'd strongly recommend everyone else do the same. Basically the keys to your computer house don't work right now....and anything can be installed and run away with your machine.
