Supporting our partners at San Marcos River Foundation and the millions of Texans who drink water from the Edwards Aquifer! Please consider signing the petition herein. Launching and testing rockets directly atop where our drinking water filters into the ground is a classic example of corporate gain for public pain. We can do better!

New research reveals up to 36 million pounds of toxic chemical vinyl chloride are transported across North American railways at any moment—putting millions at risk 01/23/2024

Hundreds of thousands of Texans are at risk of dangerous chemical spills like the one in Ohio one year ago.
"If we want to prevent future signature forms of liver cancer or bone degradation in the hands of those exposed in/near the Oxy plant, rail corridor or as first responders, then we must employ the best and only true line of protection – phase out vinyl chloride and PVC in products while making polluters address the impacted communities and workers as we transition to safer alternatives," commented Amy Goldsmith, NJ State Director of Clean Water Action.

New research reveals up to 36 million pounds of toxic chemical vinyl chloride are transported across North American railways at any moment—putting millions at risk For the first time ever, new report uncovers quantities and maps the route of vinyl chloride rail shipments by America’s largest producer, OxyVinyls — known for its role in the 2023 Ohio train derailment.

It’s the spookiest day of the year, and there’s nothing scarier than methane pollution — not only is it colorless and odorless; it’s also a potent greenhouse gas that’s accelerating climate change. can and must take quick action to address methane from landfills.
“Since Texas emits the most methane from landfills of any state in the nation, I strongly support EPA getting tough on these unnecessary pollutants. EPA can powerfully reduce dangerous landfill methane pollution by incentivizing the composting of food waste and yard scraps. That would provide soil enhancements from the compost and reduce the dangerous methane emissions. This would be a powerful win-win,” said Brigid Shea, Travis County Commissioner in Texas.
