Please join us in welcoming Maritsa “Mary” Aguilera to the JP Austin Child Development Center team! 

Mary was born and raised right here in Austin, Texas, and brings 7 years of experience working with children as both a teacher and personal service care. She is currently working toward her CDA certification and is excited to continue growing as an educator.

As our Head Start Floater, Mary supports both our infant and toddler classrooms, helping create consistency, connection, and support for our youngest learners and their teachers.

“Working with children has always been my passion. I love creating a safe, loving, and fun environment where children can learn, grow, and feel supported.”

We are so excited to have Mary join our JP family and can’t wait to see all the connections she builds with our children, families, and teachers! 🌱💛

September 15th marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

At Jeremiah Program Austin, we believe every family carries a story worth celebrating. From the traditions passed down around the kitchen table to the languages spoken at home, from the courage of mothers building new futures to the dreams their children carry forward, culture is part of what makes our community strong.

This month, we honor the generations before us, celebrate the families with us today, and look ahead to the futures unfolding for generations to come.

In preparation for our Generations Rise Luncheon: Futures Unfolding, Jeremiah Program Austin families gathered to paint the vases that will become beautiful centerpieces for the tables.

Little hands, big imaginations, lots of color and a whole lot of love went into each one. 🎨

Each vase represents what can happen when we create space for families to dream, grow, and build futures together.

Every August, something remarkable happens at Jeremiah Program Austin.

The kids get their backpacks. And so do their moms.

But for a single mother pursuing her college degree, a new school year represents so much more than back-to-school season. It’s a declaration:

She’s still going. She hasn’t given up on the future she’s building—for herself and her child.

Alexandra came to Jeremiah Program with one goal: earn her CNA and begin a career in healthcare.

With safe, affordable housing, quality childcare, and support to pursue her education, she didn’t have to choose between her child’s needs and her own.

And then something beautiful happened.

She earned four degrees during her time with JP Austin. Today, she works as a PRN nurse on her terms and on her timeline.

That’s what happens when we invest in moms.

We remove barriers.

As a new school year begins, I’m reminded that none of us builds our future alone.
