ADAPT FUN RUN for Disability Rights

ADAPT of Texas is holding its annual FUN RUN on Saturday February 15th from noon – 2pm.

This is not a traditional FUN RUN. It is not a race. Sponsored FUNRUNNERS go around a ¼ mile track as many times they can in 1 hour.

If your group is signed up as a participating FUN RUN group, your group receives 75% of all funds collected.

ADAPT of Texas has a secure computer program that allows you to solicit funds via email or social media.

Attached are documents that explain in more detail how your group can benefit by participating in the FUN RUN.

We will be having a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, January 14th at 2pm central to further explain the opportunity to raise funds. Please invite your board members and/or active members to join us.

ARTWORK AND POETRY CONTEST
SUBMITTAL FORM

The theme for the 2022 FUN RUN for Disability Rights being held Saturday, April 30th is COMMUNITY ATTENDANTS = INDEPENDENCE.

To highlight the voices and stories of COMMUNITY ATTENDANTS we will be asking COMMUNITY ATTENDANTS to submit an original piece of artwork or an original poem. The submitted artwork/poem can embrace any subject or theme. Criteria is that it is done by a COMMUNITY ATTENDANT.

Community Attendant – an individual who provides physical, cognitive, emotional and/or sensory assistance to a person with a disability of any age.

Art – the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination…to be appreciated primarily for its beauty or emotional power.

Poetry – work in which feelings/emotions and ideas are expressed with a distinctive style and rhythm.

We will recognize the top 3 submittals by awarding 3 cash prizes of $250, $150 and $100.

All submittals must be electronic. DEADLINE: April 15th 6pm eastern

Para resaltar las voces y las historias de los ASISTENTES COMUNITARIOS, les pediremos a los ASISTENTES COMUNITARIOS que envíen una obra de arte original o un poema original. La obra de arte / poema enviado puede abarcar cualquier tema o tema. es que lo hace un ACOMPAÑANTE DE LA COMUNIDAD.
Asistente comunitario: una persona que brinda asistencia física, cognitiva, emocional y/o sensorial a una persona con una discapacidad de cualquier edad.
Arte: la expresión o aplicación de la imaginación y la habilidad creativa humana... para ser apreciada principalmente por su belleza o poder emocional.
Poesía: obra en la que se expresan sentimientos/emociones e ideas con un estilo y ritmo característicos.
Reconoceremos las 3 mejores presentaciones otorgando 3 premios en efectivo de $250, $150 y $100.
