New book release from TACC's Victor Eijkhout!

A longtime expert in high performance computing, Victor supports cutting-edge research, teaches HPC at The University of Texas at Austin, and develops software for some of the world's largest supercomputers.

His latest book, Scientific Computing in Modern C++, explores modern C++ techniques for scientific computing and is now available from SIAM.

Join the Crash Course in Supercomputing on June 24, 2026 (9am–4 pm PDT), a hybrid training offered through the Berkeley Lab Computing Sciences Summer Student Program and open to users from NERSC, Argonne Leadership Computing Facility, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility, and Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC).

Designed for novice parallel programmers, this hands-on course covers:

πŸ”Ή MPI and OpenMP programming
πŸ”Ή Compiling and running parallel applications on a NERSC supercomputer
