“Royal Bloom” is my painting for this year’s Art Prom at ! The show theme is Royal Goth, which got me thinking about the intersections of life, death, monarchy, and nature. You can buy this 5”x7” painting at the party this Saturday, April 26th from 7-10pm. Get a ticket and support Icosa Collective and a bunch of local artists! Ticket link in my bio :)

“Ray Makes His Way” is my mural for the Westgate ! It was commissioned to honor and celebrate frontman, , who is a longtime friend and patron of the iconic grocery store. The design builds off of the poster I illustrated for the band’s 50th anniversary a few years back, which is inspired by classic Austin band posters by artists like . The text is inspired by a song that Ray wrote, which includes the lyrical hook “Down at the Central Market”.

In the mural, we see Ray asleep on the back of his trusty steed as they make their way across a Southwestern landscape. Their journey is accompanied by a band of armadillo troubadours, who’s swing music fills the night air. The illustrated lyrics of their song reveal that Ray is indeed on his way to the promised land, AKA Westgate Central Market!

I’ve known Ray since I was a kid. My mom and Ray are old friends who met in college, and he was like a fun musical uncle to me as a child. I saw Asleep at the Wheel play many times growing up, and I remember dancing around like a wildman at La Zona Rosa while they played. So it was a really cool full-circle moment for me creating a mural for this legendary Austin band in an equally legendary Austin grocery store. I grew up shopping at Central Market, and you can still find me at the North Lamar store about once or twice a week. So this project feels really meaningful and personal for me, and I’m really grateful to everyone who helped make it happen!! ✨🙌🏻✨

I illustrated this series of portraits for NBC News last month! This was a quick turnaround project on Election Day. I met the subjects in the morning (voters at my local polling location), and drew their portraits all in one day. They were published as part of a series of illustrations and photos documenting the election on NBCNEWS.COM. I’m really happy with how they came out!

Their work is amazing, check it out! And thank you to everyone who shared their feelings and let me draw them on that crazy day 🙌🏻 💔
