EL INTERIOR NEWS UPDATE SPRING 2022
I have just returned from six glorious weeks in Oaxaca, Mexico and my passion for gorgeous hand woven clothing and handcrafted embroidered Huipiles is re-ignited and truly fired up! In early January, I spent about a week and a half in the Coasta Chica, an area southwest of Oaxaca City and close to the border with the state of Guererro. We visited some lovely, traditional villages of the Amuzgos and Mixteca Baja ethnic groups. I call it a continuing of research for a documentary I have worked on through the years and dream of completing. It is a work in progress with lots of fresh energy, and now without a storefront, this project is moving to the top of my list. Of course buying beautiful hand woven clothing and thereby supporting the accomplished weavers and their co-operatives was involved! Here are a few snap shots.
