Americans who report regular conversations with a trans person are CONSISTENTLY more likely to support equality across health care, education, and the workplace.

Health care should be affordable, accessible, and robust for everyone — PERIOD.

It’s National LGBTQ Health Awareness Week.

Amidst the Trump administration’s relentless attacks on LGBTQ+ health care, our community is suffering:

🏥 Transgender and gender-expansive people were more likely than gay/le***an and bi+ people to say federal policy in the last 12 months has made it more difficult for them to access care.

🏥 Bi+ adults (alongside transgender/gender-expansive adults) are more likely to report worse health statuses than gay and le***an adults.

Thank you to the for recognizing and honoring our outgoing Texas State Director of the Human Rights Campaign, Melodía Gutiérrez, for her leadership and tireless work advancing equality and equity across Texas.

In recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, it was also inspiring to see the Honorable María Antonietta Berriozábal welcomed back to City Hall. As the first Latina to serve on the San Antonio City Council in 1981—and the first woman to hold such a role in any major Texas city—her legacy continues to open doors for future generations of leaders.

We also celebrate the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and the continued work being done to advance opportunity and equity in our communities.
