As a company built on supporting the active and travel space, we’re excited to launch a new grant program that offers Spot employees $1,000 to put toward their next trip. Adventure is at the core of everything we do, so we want to encourage our employees to explore new places and experiences. Any full-time Spot employee can apply, and one employee will be awarded per quarter.⁠

To kick things off, we're stoked to name Lacey Rivette as the first recipient—she put the grant toward her recent trip to the Dolomites. “I’ve been obsessed with the Dolomites for a very long time, in large part because of the hiking pictures showing up in my Instagram feed. It was just as incredible as I imagined it would be.”

Spot has been partnering with Berkshire East to provide their riders with injury insurance for years—so when recent travels brought Spot’s copywriter to New England for the summer, she jumped at the chance to give downhill mtb a shot at their .

Their 101 Learn to Ride Lesson is an incredible program for anyone who’s new to the sport—it’s an all-inclusive entry package to downhill mtb that includes a lift ticket, rental bike, body armor, helmet and a two-hour lesson.

In addition to Thunder Mountain Bike Park, Berkshire East offers 180 acres of skiable terrain, whitewater rafting, plus plenty of other experiences, making it a haven for year-round outdoor adventure in Western Massachusetts.

Tanner Stofferahn runs marketing and communications for the , where he has the opportunity to directly impact the preservation and restoration of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. He’s also a fly fishing guide with a background rooted in visual design—he’s created for brands like Routine Baseball, adidas and Rawlings to name a few.

Spot has been partnering with USA BMX to provide their riders with injury insurance for several years, so we were stoked to have the opportunity to document the Lone Star Nationals in Houston.

One thing we really love about BMX is that while every race takes place on the same track, each heat is completely different—it’s unpredictable and chaotic, yet requires skilled precision and timing.

Austin startup Spot Insurance raises $25M to cover injuries at ski resorts, sporting events, elsewhere This startup that offers short-term insurance — used, for example, by skiers hitting the slopes for a dew days — just scored $25 million.

A big congrats to our ambassador Adrian Ballinger for completing the first recorded ski descent on Makalu- the world’s fifth-highest peak with a true summit of 27,766-feet.

Adrian and his climbing partners reached the peak on Monday morning at 9 AM in whiteout conditions. They’re the first team to reach the peak's summit this year.

We are proud to announce that Spot insured the top eight female freeride MTB athletes in the world at 2021 from May 24th-June 1st. The progression session was held in Virgin, Utah, one of the most iconic venues in freeride. The athletes gathered to showcase their skill, style, and power on this challenging terrain.

The first-ever Evolution in Action award presented by Arc'teryx, was given to Hannah Bergemann by athlete vote for her commitment to both progression and collaboration, pushing herself to her full potential on the course and inspiring confidence in her fellow athletes.
