At The Sobering Center we understand safety starts with compassion! Our team is able to provide a safe supportive environment for clients to sober up and have a non judgmental conversation about their substance use. This a more appropriate setting than jail or the hospital! If you want to support jail and hospital diversion you can donate to our Amplify Austin campaign:

We filmed a documentary! What you didn’t get to see was all the incredible behind the scenes and full length interviews. In the lead up to Amplify Austin we’ll be sharing some quotes from founding board members, Hon. Nancy Hohengarten and Dr. Christophe Ziebell.

If you haven’t seen the documentary you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/sIH-RZ9V07g?si=wSptxCyevBRXSV6g

Our medical manager Brandon was a para-rescue man in the Air Force before he was medically retired and found his way to us. He was quickly promoted from floor medic to medical manager in his first year.

Brandon is an amazing leader, a team player, can de-escalate just about anything, and is about a million other great things that made him perfect for the center.

He has 6 sisters which has equipped him to put up with the 6 ladies that make up the rest of the leadership team! He recently got the call to go back and teach at the para rescue school and he made the exciting and difficult decision to leave the center.

Last night we went to happy hour to celebrate, but our friend, ATCEMS Captain Mike Sasser, surprised him with a trip to D.C.! Brandon will be a guardian on an honor flight in April! He will be helping support a Vietnam veteran who needs help seeing all the sights.

While we will miss him, we know this was an opportunity he was waiting for and we can't wait to hear about his new adventure!⭐️
