Remember Who Moved My Cheese? | The Intentional Networker™ - Patti DeNucci 03/18/2020

Who remembers that fine piece of self-help literature from 1998 entitled "Who Moved My Cheese"? (I know, we all laughed about it...and then...) Thinking it may make a comeback in these uncertain and challenging times. Check out my latest blog post here:

Remember Who Moved My Cheese? | The Intentional Networker™ - Patti DeNucci Remember Who Moved My Cheese? Mar 17, 2020 | 0 comments Remember the book “Who Moved My Cheese?” It was a short, self-help parable published in the late 1990s that dealt with the topics of uncertainty and change. (I realize some of you weren’t even born then, but stay with me here.) Those of y...

I did my part of save mankind this week. Well, that's an exaggeration. I just did what any good neighbor would do. I was out walking my dogs and noticed some very sharp deck screws scattered along a street not far from mine. I picked up more than 16 yesterday -- and found more than 10 today!

Can you imagine how many flat (and possibly ruined) tires that could have added up to? (Surely you've gotten a flat before. Remember what an inconvenience that was?)

Not sure how these bad boys ended up on the street (careless workmen? teen pranksters? someone who hates his or her neighbors? a vindictive ex-spouse? a shady tire repair company?). It matters not. The main thing was to get these agents of puncture off the street immediately. It took almost no effort to gather them up. (Okay, bending over a few times.) Mischief managed.

With this in mind, what little act of goodwill, thoughtfulness, kindness, generosity, or disaster prevention have you accomplished this week? (Come on, I'm sure you've done something!) Maybe it's a friendly phone call, a handwritten note, an offer to help another in some way, a spot-on recommendation or referral, or perhaps a discrete and tactful notification of spinach in someone's teeth. It's so easy and it makes the world a much nicer place. We need that now more than ever. Share here so we can all be inspired -- and grateful!

Why Friendship Is Good for Your Health 01/28/2020

My good friend Cindy sent me this article today. Some deep wisdom and compelling research here. Ladies, we need each other in our lives. Period. (No offense, guys! We need you, too!) I talk to so many people who have totally let friendships and any kind of social life go by the wayside because of work, kids, household stuff, too much screen time, etc. Make time for friends - even just once or twice a week - and see how much richer and joyful and interesting life can be! And how m any opportunities come your way!

Why Friendship Is Good for Your Health Whether is it with friends, family, a therapist or a support group, women find it healing to tell their stories. If friendships can enrich our physical a...

Three questions for uncovering powerful lessons | The Intentional Networker™ – Patti DeNucci 01/16/2020

Want to try something easy, yet powerful that will help you reframe a disappointment? Check out my latest blog post:

Three questions for uncovering powerful lessons | The Intentional Networker™ – Patti DeNucci Those of you who know me well know that I love books and the topic of self-development. In fact, first thing I do each morning (besides let the dogs out and get the coffee going) is take in the daily entries in three of my favorite books: 1) Mark Nepo’s Book of Awakening, 2) Julia Cameron’s The ...

10/01/2019

As I head to an association meeting - a luncheon that will feature both networking and a professional development program - I pause to ask myself a few questions: Why am I attending this meeting? What do I hope to learn / experience? What bit of information will enlighten or inspire me (or both)? What possibilities or opportunities await me? Who will I meet / see / reconnect with?

I don't have to have any of the answers, but the questions are vital. Without questions, there are no intentional solutions, ideas, synchronicities, or possibilities.

What are your Big Questions for today?

Heads blow up when I ask this in my presentations and workshops. Some people even get a little irked with me. But coming up with and asking yourself Big Questions should be as natural as pouring a cup of coffee or brushing your teeth. Especially if you consider yourself a leader or an expert or someone who wants to make (and attract) the most out of life.

Would love your thoughts on this. Do you ask yourself Big Questions?

The ironic things we “smart” humans do | The Intentional Networker™ – Patti DeNucci 09/05/2019

I see examples everywhere of how we "smart" humans sometimes try so hard to achieve what we want that we end up repelling it. Here's one little example you may relate to. Perhaps you have seen other examples.

The ironic things we “smart” humans do | The Intentional Networker™ – Patti DeNucci We humans are supposedly the smartest of all the animals. And yet, we do some pretty ironic and silly things. Ever notice this?

Being courageous enough to connect authentically and imperfectly | The Intentional Networker™ – Patti DeNucci 08/16/2019

I posted this week about how fear and striving to appear perfect and impressive can really mess with our ability to create and connect. Take a look. What are your thoughts on this topic? When have fear and the worry that you're flawed, imperfect, and human gotten in the way for you? Can you think of a time when courage overcame those fears? http://www.intentionalnetworker.com/2019/08/connect-authentically-and-imperfectly/
