✨Meet the Staff✨
Say hey to Ariel, one our of front desk super stars and setting interns! Ariel has been working at Crux for over a year and loves everything about Crux, especially the community, friendships, and positivity of the place. He has been climbing for six years and his favorite place to climb is anywhere there is beautiful rock to climb with an emphasis on Rocky Mountain National Park. Outside of climbing you can find Ariel playing the bass guitar, cooking, and baking (he says, “yes, I can cook and bake.”). His favorite post send meal is a nice hot Mountain House meal and his favorite animal is the red tail hawk! When asked if there is anything else he’d like the good folks of Crux to know he said, “I got love for every single one of you guys!” Thanks for being great Ariel!

Attention friends, family, members, guests, those who run a 5k on Thanksgiving and those who don’t, next week our hours will look a little different. Make sure you’re aware so you don’t show up and are disappointed!

We’re getting ready for Singles Night at South and what’s a better ice breaker than a partner’s climb?

Hey students! We know balancing school and climbing can be difficult (let’s face it, we’d all just climb all the time if we could), but we hope to make it a little easier on ya!

We’ve got work space for studying, climbs for sending, AND we offer a student discount (on day passes, punch passes, and memberships)!

For the past three years Crux has been fortunate enough to support the non profit, Foster Angels. This group gathers Christmas lists from teenagers in the Central Texas foster system and helps get them those items for Christmas morning.

These lists are a rare opportunity for them to dream big and they get to actually ask for items they want and not need.

We know how generous and caring our community is so we thought we’d share the cause with y’all in case anyone would like to sponsor a teen (you can do it individually or with a group of your friends!). The Fosters Angels website (link in our story) has profiles with the teenager’s story and list.

We always have a fun time shopping for them (or you can donate the money and someone at Foster Angels will do the shopping) and knowing we are making someone’s Christmas.

November 15th is Singles’ Night at South, but we’re still having Date night at Central! So grab your SO, friend, cousin, coworker, etc and come climb!

We'll say it so you don't have to, dating can really suck at times. If you're over swiping left or right, maybe it is time to meet someone the old fashioned way, in person doing something you both enjoy.

Join us for Singles Night at Crux South! Come climb, mingle, and maybe just maybe, meet the love of your life (or at least someone who you can hang with through the holiday season)!

If things are going well after the climb, head on over to our neighbors at to enjoy a beverage* and continue getting to know each other.

Our Gym to Crag course, that we partner with Texas Climbing Adventures for, is changing to a lead class!

In this course, climbers will receive an Intro to Lead Climbing at Crux Climbing Center on a Monday, and will learn lead climbing techniques and terms. Then, within the same week on Sunday, the climbers will meet with Texas Climbing Adventure’s certified guide who will take them to the heart of Austin at the Barton Creek Greenbelt for an amazing outdoor lead climbing experience.

Did you know our adaptive climbing program is called BETA which stands for “Be Empowered To Ascend” because we believe everyone should feel exactly that!

If you step foot into any of his classes, you're in for a technical trip--hearing all the best queings, getting all the best demos, and knowing that you have one of the best watching you move through it all. Calling all aspiring directors, actors, story tellers, and climbers who just like to capture sick vids on your IPhone, Reel Plastic is coming back this spring! So as the temps drop and the stoke is high, make sure you’re capturing every moment to create a masterpiece to show to the local community!

Reel Plastic is the local version of Reel Rock. We highlight the films you make! Have a project your working on at Reimers? Video the attempts, show us the process! Going on a cool climbing trip this fall? Tell us about it! We can’t wait to see all the cool videos y’all will create.
