๐ UNIQUE WILL ๐
Hey everyone! Dive into my latest article where I explore the concept of "unique will"โhow our individual experiences and interactions shape our subjective reality. Unlike the notion of free will, our decisions and behaviors are influenced by our personal life stories and neural pathways. Learn about the differences between objective, perceived, comprehended, and subjective realities, and discover how understanding these concepts can help us live more fulfilling lives.
๐ Read more about how our brains process information, adapt through neuroplasticity, and prioritize our needs in the moment. See how science and psychology explain why our unique will might feel like free will.
๐ Check out the full article to see how embracing the idea of unique will can transform your perspective and happiness in a deterministic world.

๐ Life is Complex. Living is Easy. Being Happy is Hard. ๐
Before writing my memoir Accidental Motivation, I was struck by a startling fact: only 14% of Americans report feeling "very happy" (University of Chicago News). This led me to deeply reflect on why so many people accept unhappiness and what makes genuine happiness so elusive. From this, I developed a guiding mantra that has become a cornerstone of my personal philosophy.
Join me on Substack as I delve into each part of this mantra, exploring its significance and implications through my personal experiences, supported by insights from philosophy and science. Discover how understanding life's complexity, managing daily living, and actively pursuing happiness can transform your life. ๐

๐ New on Substack: "Why You Can't Really Know Anyone Else" ๐
Ever feel like you truly understand someone? My latest article dives into why that might be more complicated than we think. In "Why You Can't Really Know Anyone Else," I explore the limits of our understanding and share insights from my journey of self-discovery that began in my memoir, "Accidental Motivation."
๐ We often try hard to understand those close to us, but what if our ability to fully know others is inherently limited? Instead of striving to decode others, maybe itโs time we focus on the one person we can truly get to knowโourselves.
๐ In this piece, I discuss:
โข The complexities of understanding our own minds
โข The real benefits of self-awareness
โข Why our attempts to understand others might be fundamentally flawed
๐ Discover how embracing our own path to personal happiness can lead to healthier relationships and a more balanced life.

Harnessing Selfish Determinism for a Revolutionary Management Approach
As many of you know, following a series of life-altering incidents that spurred deep introspection, I developed a philosophy known as Selfish Determinism. This philosophy has been explored in my memoir, "Accidental Motivation," and was the subject of my TEDx talk proposal. With decades of experience as a sales executive in the IT software and services industry, I've been eager to integrate the insights from my personal journey into the professional realm.
Today, I'm thrilled to introduce a new approach to (sales) management that leverages these personal insights to create a strategy as unique as it is effective. This approach, which I call "Self-Determined Management," is not merely a method; it is a transformational philosophy designed to motivate and align teams by appealing to both individual and collective goals. It intricately weaves the principles of Selfish Determinism into the fabric of (sales) management, ensuring that every team member not only understands the personal benefits of their work but is also passionately driven by them.
This post marks the beginning of a series where we will dive into practical business applications of Self-Determined Leadership Strategies. In subsequent posts, we will focus on the specifics of selfishness, determinism, and whole happiness, both at work and in life.
Self-Determined Management
1. Cultivating a Positive Work Environment: The Self-Determined Management plan begins with an environment where personal well-being and professional success are intrinsically linked. Understanding from Selfish Determinism that our actions are often pre-determined by personal gain, we craft wellness initiatives and perks that directly reward achieving sales targets with personal health benefits. This approach not only boosts productivity but also enhances personal satisfaction and workplace morale.
2. Implementing Social Incentives: Recognition within a team is a powerful motivator, especially when aligned with our inherent desire for social standing and personal success. Our sales management strategy incorporates dynamic recognition systems where achievements are publicly celebrated, and peers can nominate each other, thus fostering a culture where appreciation and acknowledgment are key drivers of performance.
3. Providing Immediate Feedback and Rewards: Aligned with the Selfish Deterministic view that immediate gratification profoundly impacts behavior, our plan ensures that rewards for sales achievements are not only substantial but immediate. This strategy strengthens the connection between effort and reward, reinforcing the commitment to high performance through instant recognition and gratification.
4. Monitoring and Highlighting Progress: In a world governed by deterministic patterns, having clear insights into one's professional trajectory can significantly influence motivation and future success. Our sales dashboards provide not just real-time data but predictive analytics, helping each salesperson see how their current efforts can shape their future career paths, thus encouraging consistent and focused effort.
5. Encouraging Professional Development: Personal growth is deeply ingrained in our self-interest. The Self-Determined Management plan treats professional development as a personal journey toward greater achievements, aligning training and advancement opportunities with individual aspirations and demonstrating how each step forward is a step toward personal fulfillment.
6. Fostering a Purpose-Driven Sales Force: By aligning the companyโs missions and values with individual goals, we cater to the inherent self-interest in all of us that seeks personal fulfillment through collective success. This alignment ensures that efforts toward the company's broader objectives directly enhance personal reputations and career satisfaction.
7. Adaptive Leadership: Leadership within the framework of Selfish Determinism focuses on understanding and influencing deterministic paths for success. Our leadership training equips leaders to anticipate these paths and tailor their strategies to harness the inherent motivations of their team members effectively.
