The Austin Area Urban League does it again!!! Constable Nixon and some of the Team enjoyed the Austin Area Urban League's Juneteenth Freedom Fest 2026!!! From music by DJ DK to live performances, the sounds were flowing and vibes were vibing. There were activities for the kids, plenty of resourceful vendors/organizations, and a very nice selection of free food and drinks.

Our community keeps us busy. While deputies were assigned to secure the road closures/barricades, Constable Nixon also dropped by the 28th Annual Blackland Neighborhood Center's Pre-Juneteenth Education & Wellness Fair. It's always a good time with community members and even greater time interacting with our youth.

Constable Nixon and some of the Precinct One Team were present for the appointment and swearing in of new Travis County Commissioner Precinct Four, George Morales III. Judge Andy Brown appointed Commissioner Morales to fill the vacant midterm seat as Commissioner Gomez officially retired. We thank Commissioner Gomez for 53 years of public service.
