Anyway.
This is for October’s subscription box. It is too late to subscribe now but you can buy one full price after I get these out the door. If I could plan better, I would have already made them by now and posted plenty of teasers before the cut-off date bus alas, I know in my heart I am unable and unwilling to do anything sooner than last minute. I usually bust out a couple of shoddy sketches to wrap my brain around what I can realistically make. This one was the first pass. Sometimes I use an iPad, sometimes I use a Tom Hiddleston themed notebook.
Anyone have any idea what this is supposed to be?

As a person who is really embarrassed to call herself an artist, here’s how I get over it: go look at paintings and try to guess how much they are selling for. $500? $10,000? It’s anyone’s guess. And some of the really expensive ones are giclée prints!!
Not that I want to assign a number to it, I just want to remember that the painting’s job in this case is to tie the room together.

We all know adults that hate little kids, but I was a little kid who didn’t like the company of adults, the most boring, hopeless, un-fun creatures in existence. (Except my parents were OK)
I may have tolerated my adult self.

I’m learning how to edit myself into these videos and it’s tricky because I gotta do one dialog and then the other and I don’t know what little me is going to say or how I’m going to answer. So I took like 15 minutes footage of this nonsense and spent two or three hours trying to edit something cohesive out of it.
I can’t be doing a script, that ruins it. So I think I need to just do the cut to person version so I can literally jump back and forth from character to character, or do one character all the way through, keep the camera in same position, and then watch on another device with earbuds in and improvise responses. Stay tuned for that! And also look at these cute duckies and their widdle feets. 🦆
And now I’ve spent 30 min on this caption and things are getting ridiculous so just stop and poooooosssst. it’s fine.

Just winging it over here, doing whatever random art assignments I can get my hands on. This large painting is a commission with the following rules:
Abstract
Color palette is yellow, black, silver, gray, cream, gold or any combo.
Must have lots of texture
Tie the room together
Peaceful to look at

Stay tuned and let’s see if I nail this (to the wall, hahaha). I also have about 15 other paintings/big art to do in the next two weeks so…should be fun.
I made the frame with a roll of canvas and about $4 of wood from the Home Depot.

Ok but in all honestly it’s looking like 30 seconds is the sweet spot. Imagine a platform where I make stuff in front of the camera, whatever the chat wants, and I auction it off starting at ONE FRICKIN DOLLAR. And then bids pop off for just thirty quick seconds!? Some things really do sell for $3-$5 or even just a dollar, some go for more.
This is how Vinca is surviving right now. I haven’t spent a dollar on ads or even new materials this year, and all new designs and ideas are auctioned off, some never to be seen again. Once I run out of materials then what?’ Honestly I don’t know.
I gave up trying to predict or plan.
