Performance Therapy Group

Comments

For many years, I have been plagued with sciatic nerve issues down my right leg. When I was biking enough miles each week, the problem was minimal. But over time my biking decreased and my pain increased. I knew that Dr. Ross Bomben at the Performance Therapy Group was the only one of my doctors that accurately identified the problem and provided relief. A few months ago, the pain got worse again. It became painful to just walk or stand. I went to Dr. Bomben. He and his team quickly determined that it was a flavor of my old sciatic nerve issues. But, this time, the symptoms were a bit different and so was their treatment.

With massage, stretching and some easy exercises, almost immediately, my symptoms began to subside. I know that my other doctors would never have provided all three treatments/recommendations. I truly believe that it is the combination of massage, stretching and various exercises (to strengthen and balance muscles) that makes Performance Therapy Group the best choice to address muscle, joint and skeleton issues. There are two things I like most about them. First, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and second, they make me feel more hopeful about getting well.

Now, more than ever, we can think of five reasons why you need to be adjusted:

1. The stress of having no idea when you will be able to return to your normal daily life.

2. Your gym has been closed for over a week.

3. You’ve spent more time horizontally than you have vertically in the past week.

4. You’re expected to work from home while your kids are home from school (and bored!)

5. You’ve stress eaten your way through your emergency snacks that were supposed to last a full month.

Whatever your reason – we’re here to help. Give us a call to book an appointment.

We’ll be here when you need us.

tom bodett motel 6 commercial we'll leave the lights on

In 1986, Motel 6 produced an ad campaign featuring the voice of writer and NPR commentator Tom Bodett, with the tagline "We'll leave the light on for you."

Take 30 seconds to check it out. (link to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLqGDDMBCyc)

The tagline signified the idea of waiting for someone particular to arrive and put people at ease that Motel 6 was always ready for another guest.

Well, just like the ad campaign -- WE ARE OPEN AND READY TO SERVE YOU.

We will not only "keep the light on" but also "we will keep our hands and tables clean."

We'll be here when you need us.

The corona virus strain has been confirmed in TEXAS and won't be going away anytime soon.

So, what can you do?
While this viral strain has captured media headlines; the basics of building and maintaining a healthy immune system have not changed.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." - Benjamin Franklin

Here's a few small changes you can make to help improve the immune system health of you and your loved ones:

1. Sleep
Sleep is the body's opportunity to recover. Improve your sleep by implementing consistent evening and morning routines. Allow yourself 8 hours of sleep, when possible!

2. Clean up your Diet
The cleaner the fuel you put in your body; the better performance you'll get out of it. Consider adding more fruits and vegetables into your diet over the next few weeks to help boost your immune system.

3. Exercise
Adding 20 minutes of vigorous exercise into your daily routine will supercharge your immune system. Think of it as recharging your phone battery.

4. Give your body an immunity boost
There are a few supplements you can add into your diet to improve your body's ability to fight off illness. We've got a few products we recommend -- Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and a great product called Immune Support (link - https://envive.nutridyn.com/immune-support)

5. Remove Stress
The higher your emotional stress levels; the more physical stress you place on your immune system. Don't allow the stress of the current pandemic negatively impact the innate defense system you have in place to fight the virus.

6. Stay Adjusted
Your chiropractic adjustment is another piece in the puzzle that will keep your body operating at the highest level possible. Improve your body's ability to perform and reduce your risk of illness.

We are here to help.

If you have any questions give our office a call or stop in and we're more than happy to assist.

The pandemic we’re experiencing is unprecedented. We’ve seen a lot of patients with mixed emotions. We think it’s helpful to identify and address these emotions. There’s no right or wrong – you feel how you feel, and that’s okay.

1. Fear
Many people are fearful of the virus. You may have an elderly loved one you are worried about, you may be older, or immune compromised.

2. Anger
Many people are angry. The virus has flipped their schedule completely upside down. They aren’t able to work and make money for their family. They have to find alternative childcare for their kids.

3. Worry
Many people are worried. What am I going to do about money? Will the economy recover? Is my job safe? When will things return back to normal?

4. Confusion
Many people are confused. How can a virus so little cause such a big change? Shouldn’t we be more prepared for something like this? Most people have never been through any life circumstance like this before.

Whatever emotion you are feeling. Our encouragement to you is control the controllables. Do the little things to improve your immunity. Call the loved ones you are worried about. Don’t let fear of the unknown dominate inside your head.
We’re here to help – even if you just need to talk.

Our office will remain open normal hours through next week. We'd like to explain why:

1. Our office is safe
Just like every other business; we routinely clean our space. We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety. Our team is well-informed on the signs & symptoms to look for in themselves, as well as our patients. You are safe here.

2. We will guide you in boosting your immune system.
Getting adjusted will keep your body running at optimum levels. Exercising appropriately and being pain free will help you sleep better. Continuing to eat a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables (like always) will keep fueling your body optimally.

3. March has been stressful..
It's been a long month! The pandemic has affected day-to-day life and will continue to do so for a while. Finding childcare, work changes, altering travel plans, running out of toilet paper... All these things add another layer of physical stress on top of this crazy situation. Physical stress will dampen your body's ability to perform.

4. You need to (and can) go somewhere.
"Social distancing" is a proven and effective method of slowing the spread of disease. We encourage you to follow the CDC guidelines (link - https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html). While staying shut in for two weeks is great family bonding time (maybe you can finish a game of Monopoly!) -- you're likely going to want to get out of the house. Our office will be open and we'll be more than happy to provide you with an opportunity to get away.
Now is the time to spread faith, hope, and love (not the virus.)
We'll be here when you need us.
