Kitchen Vibes... The Ridgecrest Residence

Meet Sunfield Plaza. The Sunfield Plaza concept revolves around integrating rural vernacular design principles with historic and classic materials. The design aims to create a warm and inviting atmosphere through the use of brick masonry, wood, metal panel, and glass on all building facades. Traditional building forms are reinterpreted with modern materials, particularly structural steel elements, to serve as focal points and encourage interaction throughout the site. This design concept symbolizes the connection between modern materials and the historic characteristics that define the uniqueness of Buda.

As we take on more complex projects, we are presented with exciting opportunities to come up with creative design solutions. This not only adds value to our clients, but often leads to additional benefits such as more leasable space, improved parking, and overall increased functionality of the site. The modern design of Victory Plaza, elevated on piers to remove it from the floodplain, is a testament to our commitment to delivering timeless spaces with innovative solutions. In this instance our design concept, “dynamic framework”, is based on using shifted, rectangular volumes that give an illusion of the building being suspended in the air.

Exciting news from Victory Plaza - the 75-year-old heritage tree that serves as the centerpiece of our project is thriving! As we continue to work on this transformative development, we are proud to maintain and preserve this iconic tree, which has been a symbol of strength and resilience in our community for decades.

Our Zilker Point project is making waves in the construction world. Setting it apart from other developments in the City of Austin, Zilker Point is one of only three projects to utilize D-Wall construction. D-Wall, also known as Diaphragm Wall construction, is a cutting-edge technique that involves creating strong and durable underground walls. With its rarity and uniqueness in Austin, Zilker Point showcases our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and construction. Yesterday was an exciting day as we had the opportunity to tour the Hines T3 Eastside development in Austin with the Generational Commercial Properties team! It's incredible to witness the use of Mass Timber in this project, with Glulam beams and 7-ply CLT floor slabs taking center stage.

This mixed-use development combines office and multi-family spaces, making it a versatile and vibrant addition to Austin's Transit-oriented Development corridor. 🚉 We were blown away by the innovative use of Mass Timber, which not only creates a unique aesthetic but also promotes sustainability and showcases the potential of timber construction.

Kudos to the team behind the T3 Eastside development for pushing the boundaries and embracing the future of construction! The Runa team is thrilled to witness the embrace of innovation by developers in Austin. We truly can't contain our excitement as we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to embark on our own Mass Timber project!

Studio Director, Simon McGown, attended the Tall Mass Timber event at the beautiful today. We're currently looking at several sites across Austin for Mass Timber housing and mixed-use development. We couldn't be more excited for a more sustainable future for our home city.
