Today Iโm sharing a small tribute to my friend ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ก โ pianist, composer, and one of the most fearless musical thinkers of his generation.
Richie asked me years ago for a transcription I made of โ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ข๐๐ข.โ Revisiting this music now feels like a quiet conversation across time โ about sound, risk, intellect, and heart.
Born ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ ยท New York
Passed ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ ยท Worms, Germany
Richie Beirach may not have been a household name, but serious pianists know. His influence runs deep โ from his modernist harmonic language to his lifelong partnership with Dave Liebman โ and his music continues to teach.
