Should you buy a home now or should you wait? That’s a question a lot of people have these days. And while what’s right for you is going to depend on a lot of different factors, here’s something you’ll want to consider as you make your decision.
As soon as you buy, you’ll start gaining equity. And you’d be surprised how quickly that can add up – even with more moderate home price appreciation.
Each quarter, Fannie Mae releases the Home Price Expectations Survey. It asks over one hundred economists, real estate experts, and investment and market strategists what they forecast for home prices over the next five years. In the latest release, experts project prices will continue to rise nationally through at least 2028.
And while rising home prices may not sound great right now, once you own a home, that growth will be a big bonus for you.
So, if you’re ready and able to buy, and growing your wealth is important to you, you’ve got an opportunity in front of you. And now that mortgage rates have fallen, it may be time to consider making a move.
To talk more about your options and what makes sense, lean on a pro. They’ll be able to tell you what home prices are doing in your area and what that means for your move (and your future equity).
The decision to buy now or wait is a very personal one, but it’s valuable to have an expert’s perspective. They won't push you, but they will explain things you may not have considered, like the equity that’s at stake.

Our Story
I’ve always looked for ways to be a part of the solution to the many problems we face in our lives and in our world. From an eight year old collecting an entire firetruck full of items for hurricane Camille victims, one little red wagon load at a time, to my college years working with women’s issues, foster kids, at-risk youth, and beyond. Some of this was inherent, as I am told I was always a “helper” from a toddler on, and some of it was learned from the great teachers that I both sought out, and whom were drawn to me in my pursuit to not just become a better me, but to somehow make a difference while doing so.
Like many, my youth was fraught with difficult challenges, many of which put me in physical or emotional peril, even by those I was taught to trust the most. Some of my most deeply felt compassions & beliefs were passed along to me from those that helped me overcome those many challenges I faced like teachers, counselors, and other mentors I was fortunate enough to have met along the way. Hence the path I took from musician and photographer, to social worker, to business manager, to realtor, to entrepreneur, and a few others along the way, while a bit winding, was also filled with a rich abundance of experiences that created the basis for the success I am able to share with my teams today.
One such experiences was when I was in Mexico for a dive excursion in 1999. I noticed the lovely people that took such good care of us at our five star hotel, lived in abject poverty, in shanty towns, just across the street. When the afternoon rains came in we would see many scramble across to their shanty, trying to prop it up however they could. A few “lucky” folks had somehow managed to wrangle a beat up old shipping container into the area somehow. I hate to say I thought they were fortunate, but I did know that the container they had with great tenacity, no doubt, managed to place there, was water tight, and provided much more protection from the wind as well. That visual and thought began the wheels turning, and I started to wonder how I might be able to use the knowledge I had just gained from what I had seen, to better situations for people like those in that coastal town and so many others?
As I had just received my real estate license a couple of years earlier, and was becoming involved in rehabbing and flipping properties, I started studying containers and container building, and looking for opportunities to see what others were doing, and what could be done with them. What I found was that while many places in the world had caught on to using containers as a building component, the United States was a bit slower to adapt. There were a few custom homes here and there, and some commercial applications, but nobody was utilizing them the way I imagined. I wanted to save homes, businesses, money, resources, and most importantly lives and to have entire neighborhoods of container based spaces!
