I always enjoy seeing coverage on the Delta Chinese population. Often overlooked.
The Legacy Of The Mississippi Delta Chinese Chinese immigrants came to the Mississippi Delta as agricultural laborers. Many moved on to become grocers in African-American neighborhoods. Some stores remain, but many folks have moved on and away.

Today, Valentine's Day, seems to be turning out to be a day to honor people that have passed (like Billy Smiley Sr.). So I decided to post this interview GISH Collective's Jakob Layman and Phyllis Dooney shot 5 years ago of Gus Johnson in Greenville, MS who passed away at age 80 earlier this year.
