Today marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. This month and throughout the year, we amplify the voices of our members, whose cultures, histories, and lived experiences shape our work to build a better Texas for all workers. Whether it's wage theft, exploitation, or rest breaks, our members are fighting to improve working conditions in their workplaces.

Hoy marca el inicio del Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Durante este mes y a lo largo de todo el año, damos mayor visibilidad a las voces de nuestros miembros. Sus culturas, historias y experiencias de vida dan forma a nuestro trabajo para construir un Texas mejor para todas las personas trabajadoras. Ya sea frente al robo de salarios, la explotación laboral o la falta de descansos, nuestros miembros están luchando para mejorar las condiciones laborales en sus lugares de trabajo.

Today, we honor the memories and legacies of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2011.

Among those who perished are an estimated 67 undocumented immigrants who worked at the Windows of the World restaurant near the top of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

People from more than 90 countries were murdered on 9/11, highlighting our country's diversity.

Our lives, country, and the world changed on that tragic morning, but we remain thankful for the resilience, hope, and unity our communities showed in the aftermath.

That's the United States we continue to fight for. One where everyone is treated with humanity, dignity, and respect.

Hoy honramos la memoria y el legado de las casi 3.000 personas que perdieron la vida el 11 de septiembre de 2001.

Entre las víctimas se encuentran unos 67 inmigrantes indocumentados que trabajaban en el restaurante Windows on the World, situado cerca de la cima de la Torre Norte del World Trade Center.

El 11 de septiembre fueron asesinadas personas de más de 90 países, lo que pone de relieve la diversidad de nuestro país.

Nuestras vidas, nuestro país y el mundo entero cambiaron aquella trágica mañana, pero seguimos agradecidos por la resiliencia, la esperanza y la unidad que nuestras comunidades demostraron tras lo sucedido.

Ese es el Estados Unidos por el que seguimos luchando: un país donde todas las personas sean tratadas con humanidad, dignidad y respeto.
