This record is my way of trying to inhabit Brazilian music again. Not nostalgically. Not as imitation. But as lived experience. As movement. As breath.

With 6 days left in the Brasileirôu Kickstarter campaign, I wanted to pause for a moment and simply say thank you.

Over the past weeks, friends, family, collaborators, and beautiful strangers have helped move this album forward little by little. Some pledged $10. Some opened their homes. Some shared the project with friends. Some came to Dinner Between Worlds and reminded me why music still matters.

This week we’re back in the studio recording voices, textures, harmonies, and the final layers of a record that has taken years to become what it is.

Brasileirôu was never meant to be fast content. It was meant to feel lived in. Handmade. Rooted in Brazil, but also in Austin, migration, memory, and community.

There are 6 days left to help bring it across the finish line.

These past weeks have been a blur of cables, harmonies, coffee, percussion, violin takes, horn arrangements, tired eyes, laughter, and beautiful human beings gathering around songs.

Brasileirôu is not a solitary record.

It has been built slowly alongside extraordinary collaborators, many of whom believed in these songs long before they were fully formed. Watching voices and instruments begin to weave together in the studio has been one of the most emotional parts of this whole journey.
