On October 21, 2003 I Received An Urgent Phone Call That My Dad Had Been in a Car Wreck And Was Not Expected To Live

Over the course of the next few days, it became clear that the Alzheimer's that had been diagnosed a few weeks earlier had advanced to the point he barely knew me or anyone else and was incapable of making any decisions for himself.

I had to deal with his affairs, pay past-due bills, settle insurance claims, file tax returns for the last five years, execute contracts with nursing homes and deal with a vast array of doctors and other health care professionals. Besides the emotional impact, the most difficult part of all of this was doing it without any legal standing to do so; even though I'm an attorney!!!
My dad didn't have any of the documents I needed in order to act on his behalf.
It took many grueling hours of convincing, threatening and conniving to get everything done I had to do just because I didn't have these simple, yet crucial documents in my hand - because my dad hadn't gotten around to executing them.

In an article I read recently, 75% of the adults in United States do not have these simple, yet invaluable documents. What I'm referring to are the following Crucial Documents that nobody should be without.
• Medical Power of Attorney - This document appoints someone of your choice to make medical decisions for you in the event you're unable to make them for yourself.
• Directive to Physician (Living Will) - This document states clearly your choice of how doctors, et al are to proceed in the event of catastrophic illness or injury where death is imminent. Sometimes crudely referred to as the pull-the-plug-or-not choice.
• HIPIAA Release - This document gives doctors and other medical providers the ability to discuss your medical condition with the people you say they can. Otherwise, they are prohibited from doing so -- even to those you'd want them to.
• Statutory Durable Power of Attorney - This document authorizes the person you so designate to conduct your business, financial, and other affairs just as though they were you in the event you are incapacitated.
• Will - Without it, the Texas Legislature and/or a judge make all the decisions for you -- and I can pretty confidently assure you that you would not agree with many of them.
o Who gets your worldly possessions - house, car, money, stocks, socks, everything
o Who gets custody of your children
o Who manages the settlement of your affairs

So apparently people are getting CLONED NOT HACKED on Facebook. Changing your password does NOTHING. Heads Up. Almost every account is being cloned. One of your pictures and your name are used to create a "new" Facebook account. (They don't need your password in order to do this). They want your friends to add them to their accounts. Your friends may think that it's you and accept your request. From that point on, they can write what they want under your name.
I have NO plans to open a new account!
PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT A NEW ‘FRIEND REQUEST’ FROM ME.
