Meet the BLUEGRASS JUNCTION technical team!

Lydia Fortuna has been a freelance live sound engineer for the past 8 years and is currently mixing at beloved local venues such as The Hole in the Wall, Sagebrush, and Scoot Inn. She is the recipient of the last three Austin Music Awards for Best Live Sound Engineer and loves her job very much. She also loves her friends and family, her cat Fritz, coding, knitting, community-building, and activism.

Meet the BLUEGRASS JUNCTION technical team!

Susan Harkey is an Austin-based aerial dancer with over 25 years’ production experience both on and off stage. She began performing in and stage managing theater productions in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1998, continuing at Texas State University’s theater program before shifting her focus from theater to dance. She has been a company member with Blue Lapis Light, a site-specific aerial company, since 2012. She has also had the pleasure of dancing with Rapt Aerial Dance, Austin Community College, and Jennifer Sherburn. She has since brought her backstage theater experience into Austin’s dance community, working behind the scenes for Blue Lapis Light, Dance Carousel, Tapestry Dance, Forklift Danceworks, and Performa Dance, among others. When not in the air or backstage, she moonlights as a web developer.

Gabe Glinski is a junior Technical Production student in the school of Theatre, Dance, and Film at TXST. This is their first time working with  Performa/Dance and they are excited to help bring this show to life. They’ve just recently begun working as a lighting technican professionally around the Austin area and hope to continue growing in their skill. Gabe’s other recent work has been with Zach Theatre , The Vortex, Magnolia Musical Theatre, Texas State University, St. Andrews, and Austin Event Lighting.

Meet the BLUEGRASS JUNCTION designers!

Brittney Barton is a 3rd year graduate student in the Theatre and Dance department at the University of Texas at Austin with a specialization in scenic design. She has been designing sets for theatre for six years and is exploring lighting design as well. Recent credits at the University of Texas at Austin include Ain’t No Mo’, A Tale for Home, Vulturine, and This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing.

Emily Cawood has been a multidisciplinary artist in the Austin area for over 20 years with her primary focuses in costuming and performance. Her most notable costuming career highlights include work with Ballet Austin, Performa/Dance, Esther’s Follies, Tin Pan Pally Productions and styling work for television and film. She is also a former cast member of the iconic Esther’s Follies and performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert with emo puppet rock band Fragile Rock. Emily currently resides in Lockhart where she continues freelance costume projects, hosts crafting workshops and is in the process of developing a one-woman show.

Erin Earle Fleming is an accomplished lighting designer whose work spans dance, opera, and theatre stages around the world. A proud member of USA 829, she is currently the Resident Lighting Designer at Ballet Austin and has collaborated with renowned choreographers and directors on productions from Bruce Wood Dance in Dallas to the Mariinsky Theatre in Russia, and from Houston’s Hobby Center to La Mama in New York. Her work includes lighting designs for Marie Antionette: Vampire Queen of Versailles, POE / A Tale of Madness, Bubblegum (Ballet Austin); Nutcracker (Ballet Lubbock); Florencia en el Amazonas (Opera de Tenerife); Star Crossed (Texas Ballet Theatre); Bad Dog, No Biscuits (Bruce Wood Dance). Holding an MFA in Design from Yale University’s School of Drama, Erin brings a thoughtful blend of artistry, technical precision, and storytelling to every project she undertakes. And, Erin is especially pleased to collaborate with Matt Webb, in life and in work.
