A study recently published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that those that had exercised the most in the week before COVID infection were the least likely to be hospitalized or die.



The researchers defined exercises as activity equivalent or greater in intensity than a “brisk walk”. In the group exercising less than 10 minutes in the week (least active group) prior were 2.5 times more prolly to die compared to those exercising 150+ minutes in the week prior (most active group). The least active group was also 30% more likely to die compared to the moderator active group that falls between 10 and 150 minutes of exercise in the week prior.



The study found that the only other factors that have more impact was advanced age and organ transplant. Exercise is the one factor we have the most control over than gives us the most advantage against COVID infection and death. Deficient levels of Vitamin D have also shown a 1.77 times increased risk of COVID infection and a 2.35 times increased risk of death.
