Excited to reveal our latest - TheBigEasty - a whole home restoration of a historic Travis Heights home originally built in 1939. We will be using the latest and greatest in building science to bring this beauty into this century as a healthy, high-performance Render ATX home.

is nestled in Travis Heights, one of the neighborhoods grew up in! This one of a kind project will be an ode to the New Orleans French inspired Southern homes rooted in the 1940s, with modern sensibilities.

Being native Austinites gives us a unique perspective on crafting homes in our city. Understanding the cultural fabric of Austin’s old neighborhoods is crucial while contributing to the legacy of our hometown.

Lillie had the recent opportunity to hear what our Mayor thinks about the current state and growth of Austin.

There was a through theme around having a bias for action for Austin. He spoke on the concept of being comfortable to fail, but failing fast. The message of trying something and figuring out quickly what works and what doesn’t work is synonymous with how we work here at Render. It was a great opportunity to here first hand from one of our city leaders!

We’re looking back at our past , in the heart of East Austin, where we collectively breathed new life into a nearly century-old gem. Revival of the structure was from the foundation up, virtually creating a new home while keeping with the authentic bungalow aesthetic of the neighborhood.

Meet the of the month, Hemi! Hemi is currently the longest resident of and is looking for his fur-ever home! Here’s a little bit about this sweet boy….

Hemi made his way to after living a life of neglect. Skinny, covered in wounds, and craving affection. In his foster home, he loves curling up on blankets and being near his humans. His foster calls him, "the most affectionate dog they've ever met! 🐾😊

He'd do best in a pet free home, but he is GREAT with kids! This gentle boy loves everyone he meets. Hemi also has an adorable nub tail that wags at all times!

He is about 4 years old, and around 50 lbs. This sweet boy is looking for his humans! If that might be you or you know someone who might be a good fit, please reach out to Love-a-Bull! Let’s help find Hemi a home. 🏡

In 2015, we embarked on a journey to create something truly special, and it's still shining bright today. This custom home perfectly blended with the charm of Brentwood while adding a modern twist. 🏡✨

Fifteen years ago (wow!) this was our very first custom home project under our own company, the was more than just a home – it was a sustainable masterpiece. Our clients didn’t pay an electric bill their first entire year in the home! After that, they averaged an electric bill of only $25 per month for an all electrical home with a family of four.

This 5-Star Green Rated Custom Home was a groundbreaking example of nearly NET-Zero living, proudly rated by the City of Austin Green Building Program. 🌱 We were ahead of the curve on the green building wave that hit Austin in the years following!

Pushing boundaries, we integrated an array of innovative non-toxic products, some introduced for the very first time in the Austin area. It was a milestone project that not only showcased our craftsmanship but also served as a valuable case study for sustainable building practices.

At Render ATX we're all about making a positive impact, and one way we're doing that is by sponsoring a pup in need. We are grateful to have been able to help with this sweet girl’s mounting vet bills! 🐶❤️

Meet our furry friend of the month, Jessie! 🐾🏠!

Jessie and her brother were dumped on the side of a very busy highway in South Austin. Unfortunately her brother Beau was struck and killed by a car, and desperately Jessie stayed faithful to her brother and never left him. Thankfully she was saved by !

Jessie is now looking for her loving, safe, forever home! She needs an indoor home with a fenced yard, is potty trained and does not require a crate. She loves other dogs and would do great in a home with a furry friend!

The Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church (originally built by freed slaves) has been sacred a pillar to the community of Clarksville in Austin, TX for over 140 years.

For over 40 years, the church had been held up by telephone poles wedged into the earth behind the church at a 45 degree angle, a project spearheaded by the University of Texas Architecture & Engineering program.

In 2012, the incredible honor of restoring this significant piece of history was bestowed upon our small company by the church’s congregation. Steve Sadowsky, the City Historic Preservation Officer (RIP) recommended us. Dilapidated old churches were often pet projects of his. We were competing for the job against the likes of established builders like Joe Pinnelli, among others. After a couple of initial meetings, the church goers, including local legend Don Baylor (RIP), said, “We like Doug. We want to work with him.”

Every step of the way, we worked hand in hand with the dedicated church leaders to ensure our renovation honored their vision and the rich history of this beloved Austin landmark.

When we started work, the city inspectors words were,
“This place is held up by hope and prayer.”

When were finished, the churches new baptismal which now doubled as a structural buttress (designed by Jerry Garcia of Structures) supported the church & the old telephone poles were forever removed. That was a a wonderful day! 🥲

We will always feel honored to have had the opportunity to revitalize this cherished space, preserving its legacy for generations to come. Most memorable will be the people & relationships that were made as a result.

Side note, Gary used to be Doug’s little league baseball coach & Arthur was one of Doug’s best friends growing up! This project was for Arthur’s sister & Gary’s daughter, so it was definitely a nostalgic family affair, & we are so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it. Meet the newest Render pup, Rufus! This amazing dog was one of dozens living in a crate at the shelter. He is calm, super sweet and fantastic with all other animals and kids. Rufus was rescued from Austin animal Center by our Assistant Site Superintendent Uri and his family! Our local animal shelters are overcrowded and far beyond their capacity. There are tons more perfect dogs there just like Rufus. Please consider fostering, adopting, and advocating for these animals. They need our help!

Meet Brandi, our superstar Operations Manager who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes! Her attention to detail and organizational skills are second to none, and she always goes above and beyond to ensure our team is on task and set up for success.

Brandi resides on Lake Norman in North Carolina with her husband, Cole, and their fur baby Coasta. 🐶She joined Render ATX with a background in the kitchen and bath industry, working for a manufacturer's rep for all things plumbing, kitchen and bath related. She brings an array of expertise to not only our building industry, but also as someone who stays on top of all of the multitude of platforms and moving parts behind the scenes.

Brandi and Cole purchased land in the mountains of North Carolina several years ago. Brandi has gained knowledge from the Render ATX team along the way which is helping them make decisions as they build for the future.

🐾 Meet Turok, the adorable Malinois rescue pup and beloved companion of our Assistant Site Superintendent 🐶

At Render ATX, we're not just passionate about building custom homes, we're also passionate about giving back to our community and supporting animal rescue organizations like the one who brought Turok into Laura’s life. Turok brings joy and positivity to our job sites and reminds us of the importance of giving back to our furry friends.
