Today is our annual Spring fling in Acres Homes in Houston TX. It’s the culmination of PEACE through PIE nonprofit work supporting garden to health programming and the publication of the Green Seedling Magazine with Beauty's Community Garden, for Acres Homes a food desert

As we all come up for air we've had time for reflection. Maybe you've pivoted in a new direction, and changed how you go about doing things. We at PEACE through PIE have been doing exactly that these past two years. We've been working hard on being a Community Partner with Beauty's Community Garden in Houston. We've been developing projects for the whole family focused on 1) How to be your own food source through urban gardening, 2) Learning about the benefits of eating more fruits and veggies, and 3) Jumping into foods from other cultures in hopes to expand your palate and appreciation of other foods. You'll be hearing more about this and their PEACE through PIE, that is coming up this April 2nd on ZOOM. Yes, you can participate no matter where you are in the US. MLK 6th Annual PEACE through PIE Social & Fundraiser Learn about food deserts, join breakout rooms on urban gardening and cooking healthy, while playing Bingo, and bidding on auction items.

SWEET HOME is having their 13th Annual PEACE through PIE Social this Saturday, March 5th, from 11:30-2:30. This is a welcome event for the whole family to sing, eat pie, and enjoy fellowship. What a joy! We are excited their annual tradition continues, including the Pie Auction, where all proceeds go to the restoration to this historic Clarksville church.

Your support helps us explore and share the many cultural palates, opens up food access, and closes the gap on food insecurity. Our 2020 GIVING Campaign runs from through 12/31/20.
