Defiantly Drafted Etsy
Black Q***r Woman of Color owned business. I build furniture and woodworks.
I’m so excited for round two of this. I learned a lot on this project. For V2 I already have a higher quality router template bit, I’ll swap the leg supports for wood (until I can learn to weld metal), and all other aspects will be buttoned up and production ready. I only ever list and sell the highest of quality products. If V2 doesn’t make that cut, then it’ll be V3 or V4 or however many it takes. I’m always learning (we should all be learning), but QUALITY IS KEY in this shop. 🔑 If you’re not learning, then work to surround yourself with people who prompt you to learn. 🧠

THIS IS SO COOL!!! Awesome find while visiting Wimberley, TX. As much as I’d love to restore it, I’m going to it to appreciate its history.

No kings. No crowns. No one above the people.
Just voices, expression, and the freedom to create something that says exactly what you mean.
From graffiti-style serving trays to protest coasters, inclusive wall art, and Black pride pieces… every design is about showing up, taking space, and not staying quiet.
Art has always been part of resistance.
This is just my way of contributing to the conversation.
If it speaks to you, it’s for you.

This was my first time doing an inlay on a live edge black walnut burl slab with paduk… and I made a few mistakes along the way.
Biggest one? Not accounting for wood movement.
At 1/2” thick, I got worried about strength and glued strips underneath to reinforce it… which actually does the opposite over time. It locks the wood in place and can lead to cracks.
So I took a step back and fixed it.
Not perfect, but I learned a ton and I’m proud of how it turned out.
Round two is coming.
