Epitome of the Opposite?! More like epitome of a good time 🚫🐦 Thanks to all who joined us in recording a live show for the 10th anniversary of our first album. It was an illuminating experience revisiting some of the first song I ever wrote, hearing what time has changed and what it’s kept the same. Thanks so much to for hosting us, they do a fantastic job and I think this recording is going to look and sound exactly like what we’re hoping for! Also shout out to this incredible lineup of musicians for filling out the record and the work they put into these wrong songs. Be on the lookout for more updates as we start getting things mixed!

2016. What a different world. It contained multitudes for me:

My first visit to Austin, the city that would become my home. Clueless from the Illinois suburbs and thrown into a new world, not knowing a soul.
I remember meeting my first friends in this spiderweb of a music scene. Was invited to my first show downtown and got scared looking for parking. Everything seemed fast. I was so green and eager to be a part of absolutely anything to do with music. Hanging posters for friend’s bands, hopping on stage to sit in for just one song, collecting what would end up becoming the songs on my first album, Epitome of the Opposite. Sometimes it feels like this all happened to someone else. Some goofy kid with beaming eyes taking in more than he had ever known. But no. It was me. And it’s still me, I hope. I hope the next 10 years fill me with just as much wonder at the fact that I’m here and the fact I’m still making songs. Cacaw.
