She should already have a favorite window, a favorite blanket, and a favorite human.

Instead, this sweet one-eyed girl is still waiting.

The thing that stands out most about Nica isn’t that she has one eye. It’s how much she loves people. She wants to be near you. She wants pets. She wants cuddles. She wants to curl up next to you after a long day and remind you that everything is going to be okay.

She’s playful, adorable, and full of personality, but underneath all of that she’s just a cat looking for someone to love.

Every time we visit her, we leave wondering the same thing:

How has nobody adopted this cat yet?

Friday starts with School of Rock Rock 101, then Stars at Night Presents the Hoaxxers Record Release featuring Hoaxxers, Dropped Out, Nite Sobs, The Anchor & Live Another Day.

Saturday morning brings the Anime Meet-Up, then Saturday night gets delightfully weird with I Was A Museum—an unforgettable mix of clown burlesque, drag, circus arts, comedy & performance art.

Sunday wraps it up with Spoken & Heard Open Mic featuring poetry, music & comedy.

Free parking. All ages (but not for a burlesque show) Old Austin vibes.

Another week and Nica is still here.

Still greeting people.Still rolling around asking for attention.Still carrying her little purple octopus toy around.Still waiting for someone to realize she’s the one.

Honestly, it’s getting difficult to understand how this cat hasn’t been adopted yet.

Nica is affectionate, social, playful, and completely fearless. She lost one eye early in life and adapted like it was nothing. She climbs, explores, cuddles, purrs nonstop, and somehow keeps getting overlooked while less cool cats are probably out there sleeping through their third nap of the day.

This cat has personality. The kind that makes your house feel more alive.
